The house is right in the midle of everything Porto rotondo has to offer.
You will find on your doorstep: the charismatic traffic free lanes winding through the local shopping and dining piazzas, the amphitheater built entirely of granite, the marina which is a characteristic round shape, hence the name of the town, and Piazza San Marco with its statue that indicates North.
The church of San Lorenzo, whose interior contains beautiful wooden sculptures depicting religious scenes is worth visiting.
A visit to the island of Mortorio and Soffi might be considered, a day trip on a boat will also show you places that are not accessible otherwise.
There are several beaches located within a short distance, the beach of Ira: (name derived from the presence of the villa of the famous actress Ira Furstenberg) near the town center and located in Punta Nuraghe, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation.
The beach of Punta Volpe north of Punta Nuraghe, just below the promontory of Punta Volpe, feature white sand with rocky shores of the Mediterranean and overlook the island of Mortorio.
Beach Punta Asphodel, very close to Ira with white sand and crystalline sea.
Marinella beach: just 4 km from Porto Rotondo is the largest and best equipped, ideal for lovers of water sports.
In the evening many people stroll around the marina, or delve through the traffic free narrow streets of the town. The soft evening light, is very characteristic and accompanies you when having dinner in one of the restaurants or pizzeria overlooking the marina. Check prices as some of them may be very expensive, however others are very affordable for the location .
Whilst strolling, I also recommend an huge ice-cream, they are delicious.
There are Nightclubs in the area, Country Club and Tartarughino are the most famous ones, but if you are looking for a more tranquil evening, there are bars and pubs across the marina that stay open until late, The Harris bar located on the main road to the property is probably the most famous.
For more info about local events, tennis, golf and other sports, boat, car and bike hire, visit the Tourist office located by the big car park at the entrance of Porto Rotondo.
With reasonable driving distance from Porto Rotondo towards north you can find Porto Cervo and Poltu Quatu (very exclusive).
Visiting the islands of Maddalena, Caprera a pearl in the mediterranen where you can a visit Garibaldi's house (Museum) is reccomended.
If you feel more adventurous and you have a car, you can drive up to Santa Teresa di Gallura and after you have taken a 40 minute journey on a small ferry you can admire the unforgettable beauty of Bonifacio (Corsica), here you are in France.
The Sardinia region
In the heart of the Mediterranean sea, Sardinia is a world in itself. An extraordinary region, the oldest in Italy, which offers visitors a real journey back in time. A micro-continent made up of various and surprising landscapes, home of the mysterious nuragic civilization, strategic colony for Phoenicians, Punic and Roman, land of genuine flavors and ancient traditions, passed down with pride and remaining intact today.
Sardinia has always attracted travelers and writers who have extolled the beauties of Sardinia is still unspoiled coastline, and no settlements. Landscapes shaped by larger forces of time and nature, long white beaches and cliffs overlooking a crystalline sea. The wind carries the scents of the Mediterranean but also the echo of history, along the coasts and inland, where you can retrace the footsteps of distant civilizations. Become fascinated by impressive religious festivals and secular customs, culinary traditions and craft skills to discover that seem suspended in time
Porto Rotondo is the most exclusive resort in the north Sardinia, where nature has played with precision and has outlined a 'geometrically perfect cove, from which the port took its name. This Euclidean precision blends with the' Apollonian beauty of the place, from which granite coast of Iscia Segada comes to Punta Volpe, enclosing the centre, a powerful rocky complex, which offers a spectacular view of the Costa Smeralda, its sea, its islands.
Among its most famous beaches include Ira (Sa Rena Manna in Sardinian) in honor of Ira von Fürstenberg, Rocks Beach and Punta Volpe (Sardinian Iscia Segada). Together with Porto Cervo, Porto Rotondo is considered one of the most exclusive resort in the whole of mediterranean: there are easy VIP sightings, especially in the summer season in nightclubs.

"Great Location, home from home!"
I stayed with 5 other girlfriends for a week. The house is an ideal base. The outside terrace with the view of the marina was so nice for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks.
The house is well equipped with everything you would need other than a kettle (but you can boil large pans of water) the 3 bathrooms were a godsend especially with 6 girls, all the beds are comfy, although the top bunk has no ladder in the spare room....fine for adults to climb but maybe not children?
We spent most of our days at the beach, all of which are in walking distance or there's a free bus...very handy! Restaurants and bars are plenty and although we went out of season there's enough going on.
We would book again.

"I would recommend this property to anyone!"
We have just returned from a one week holiday. We had a fantastic time. We were two families with 3 small children. The terrace has the most wonderful view over the water, marina and sunset.
Good location in PortoRotondo. Near supermarket, restaurants and beaches.
The Loft House is very well equipped; we did alot of cooking and we found everything we needed.
I would definitely go back and stay at the Loft House again!

We really liked the flat, well decorated with all the amenities you can think of. The bathrooms are very nice and the rooms are so lovely with matching bed covers and curtains, really tasteful. Good mattresses and pillows and state of the art air conditioning are an added bonus as they are not so easy to find.
What we really, really loved though was the balcony, the view of the sunset while sipping wine is to die for!
The flat is in a pedestrian area, but close to the parking lot . It is in a side alley off the beaten track but a two minute stroll takes you right into the lovely piazza, the ice cream parlor, the marina and a bountiful of restaurants, cafés and pizzeria.
There are lovely beaches around Porto Rotondo and a twenty minute car ride takes you to the renowned beaches of Porto Cervo, Romazzino, Pevero and Capriccioli. The sea is the best we have experienced and this location is exactly were to be for the beaches, the night life and the great food!
We'll be back next year for sure!
