About the home

Apartment is brand new completed 2008 as an addition to the already well established Pierre & Vacances Calarossa residence. Complete freedom to self cater or dine out in residence or nearby (car essential) or mix and match as you please. Supplement of £80 for gas/water/elec/cleaning and fresh linen and towels. Residence in high season is very family friendly with many organised activities and entertainments including a children's club at extra cost payable on-site. Within easy reach of historic town of Castelsardo as well as all resorts along beautiful Costa Paradiso. Day trips include Santa Teresa (ferry to Corsica), La Maddalena Isles (Garibaldi's house and tomb) or Costa Smeralda. Close by there is the long sandy beach at Badesi, the charming port town and beach at Isola Rossa and many other inlets along the Costa Paradiso. The residence's outstanding feature is the stupendous coastline. The cleanliness of the sea here means superb watersports.

The apartment is brand new finished 2008 as an addition to already well-established Pierre & Vacances residence. The interiors are cheery and light, with comfortable beds and coffee table, dining table and chairs and small kitchenette. You have complete freedom to self-cater or make use of the on-site facilities including Bar Pizzeria and Restaurant. Or mix and match as you choose. The bright comfortable apartment is just over 50 sq m total and in addition has a 30 sq m terrace with lovely views over the gardens and central pool. There is 1 bathroom with shower bidet washbasin and WC.

On-site facilities include: Bar, Restaurant with panoramic view, Pizzeria, 1 Laundromat, Mini market, Boutique. Sport and Entertainment: 3 swimming pools including one "kids only" well equipped with sunloungers and parasols. Soccer: 5 a side field. 3 tennis courts with night lighting. 1 bowling ground (for petanque). Daily and evening entertainment at the piano bar. The owners would particularly recommend the Sagittario restaurant
(Via Al Mare 10, Trinita' D'Agultu) as a good value and good quality place to eat. Anthony Carella in the Sunday Times called it "...the kind of unpretentious Italian restaurant one dreams of finding." Owner Paulo Muzzigoni and manageress Irene Piga will give a warm welcome. Another recommendation is La Tana di Li Mazzoni (back to main road and turn left and it's on your left hand side)

£250 security deposit required (£125 for studio) against any breakages or damage, which will be refunded after your departure. Any charges incurred by the proprietors in refernce to currency exchange, or Paypal expenses, will be deducted from deposit. We are happy to accept credit cards via Paypal

Conditions

As we are non smokers we prefer to have a "no smoking" rule. We ask for £250 security deposit (£125 for the studio) against breakages or damage. We have a flexible changeover day but ask that you vacate by 9 a.m. as we clean on changeover day and need a small "window" before the next guests arrive.

The Sardinia region

Sardinia, or Sardegna in Italian, is the largest island in the Mediterranean but perhaps one of the least known. It is part of Italy but in reality the locals refer to Italy as "the continent" and are certainly proud to be different.

The Costa Paradiso / Calarossa area

The Calarossa residence and private beach lies in an unspoilt natural environment on the island's NW coast, just a few km from the charming port town of Isola Rossa. The gardens of Calarossa won the Homes Overseas Gold Award for Best Landscape Design and with it's small squares and stone archways it blends perfectly with the natural surroundings. Overall management of the residence lies with the French stock exchange listed company Pierre et Vacance

Calarossa is located on Sardinia's spectacular North Western coastline called the "Costa Paradiso" and the Calarossa residence itself is at the Southern end of the Costa Paradiso, situated on the headland called Li Canneddi. The small town of Isola Rossa is 4KM away. The larger hilltop town of Trinita' D'Agultu (usually just called Trinita) is about 6KM and has chemists doctors ATM petrol station and all local shops and facilities. Sardinia is the largest island in the Mediterranean. Calarossa is a little over an hour from either Olbia or Alghero airports. From the UK Alghero is served by Ryanair from London Stansted as well as London Luton, or from ROI from Dublin. There is also a seasonal service (starts 31.3.12) with BMI Baby from East Midlands to Alghero. Olbia is served by easyjet.com from Gatwick (starts 27.4.12) and Bristol (starts 16.6.12) There is also the option of Jet2 from Edinburgh to Olbia (starts 19.5.12) and Leeds/Bradford to Olbia (starts 19.5.12)

“Location that enables one capture the essence of Sardinia.” Spent a most enjoyable 7 days. Recommend a vehicle of at least 1.6litre for more compfortable travelling. Despite faltering Italian , found the locals extremely hospitable. The actual accomodation was spacious and the facilities apart from restaurant were excellent. Response: There is wide choice of restaurants within 20 minutes drive, as well as the opportunity to self cater

“Excellent apartment in a beautiful location” The apartment was excellent; very spacious and clean with a huge enclosed patio area which was perfect for containing our toddler. The resort had a couple of nice (but freezing) pools and it was very convenient having a minimarket and bar on site. The beaches nearby are beautiful. Response: 3 pools - 1 for children only - are all unheated freshwater pools usually just fine in the summer months

Our 2 bedroom apartment Holiday Lettings ref 50025 - which sleeps 5 or 6 using airbed (supplied) - is available at the rental rates as above. Our studio flat, which is adjacent on the 1st floor, Holiday Lettings ref 85978 - which sleeps 3 or 4 with air bed (supplied) - is available at up to 50% of above rates.

We require a security deposit (250 GBP for the 2 bed and 125 GBP for the studio) refundable after your holiday depending on no damages and a 80 GBP final cleaning and clean linen/towels charge. Cleaning and clean linen/towels performed changeover day or additionally by request. Credit cards accepted via Paypal - Paypal charges deducted from deposit. Receipted invoice issued.
