About the home

The apartment comprises 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and ample storage facilities. Further sleeping facilities are provided within the lounge by way of an extra foldaway bed. Leading from the living room is a spacious balcony with stunning sea views and mountain views to the volcano, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. The apartment is well kitted out with American style kitchen, fridge, microwave, oven, two televisions, and washing machine. There is even a shopping trolley downstairs for shared use - every need is catered for!

Ideal for couples just wanting to relax or families with small children, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay, why not take a trip up Mount Teide in the cable car and view the fantastic scenery (the highest mountain not just in the Canaries but the whole of Spain) or visit the capital Santa Cruz or the old port 'Puerto de la Cruz' and take the kids to Loro Parc. Alternatively relax and read your book, do the crossword or enjoy your favourite soaps on the English TV channels. You can visit the local fishing village of Las Gallettes and watch the beautiful sunset as you drink your glass of wine and enjoy your evening meal.

Water sports, entertainment and amusement parks are available in the nearby main resorts of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas which can be easily reached by a short bus ride or taxi. Due to the secure complex this is a very safe place to be with small children.

The Tenerife region

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands; formed around the very impressive mount Tiede the island has seen massive changes over the past 30 years. The south of the island has established itself as the holiday hotspot, largely due to the fact that it boasts year-round sunshine. The larger resorts of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos are only a 10 minute ride from Alondras and there is a daily bus service located 5 minutes walk from the complex.

The capital of Santa Cruz and Puerto de las Cruz are situated in the north of the island are both worth a visit. The far north east is home to the breathtaking views of the Taganana hills whilst on the North West you will find Masca and the most wonderful canarian town of Garachico. No trip to Tenerife is complete without a trip up to the mountain, ride the cable car up to the peak or just relax in the purpose built restaurant at its base.

You will find numerous attractions, certainly too many to mention but loro parue, the Aqua park and coming soon the Siam theme park are all great places to visit with the kids. Tenerife has some wonderful beaches, the best by far can be found in Los Cristianos and is called las vistas beach, a must for you sun/sea worshippers.

The Costa del Silencio / Balcon del Mar area

Meaning the 'Coast of Silence', this quiet resort seems like light years from its next door neighbour Playa de las Americas. Most days are spent lazing in the sunshine. Perfect for winding down and perfecting your tan.

When you're feeling active, the town centre is filled with shops and restaurants serving international cuisine together with lots of great music bars offering fun nights out. You also find tempting seafront cafes and you can watch the surfers from the rocks. Close by a small stony beach and rocky headlands ideal for sunbathing.

Costa del Silencio is one of the warmest resorts on the island because of its location. It is rain free for the majority of the year with the best weather in August. The temperature rarely falls below 15C in the winter and in the summer it is around 30C. Being on the south coast means that the water temperatures are also warmer which is good for people interested in trying water sports.
