21 Costa De Cabanas is located just 3 minutes' walk from the beach front. Cabanas is one of Portugal's best kept secrets. Quiet and peaceful, yet only ten minutes from the town of Tavira. The apartment has easy access to all amenities, including the local market for fresh products, and many excellent restaurants for eating out.
The apartment benefits from the shared salt water pool, with a shallow pool perfect for the children and a jacuzzi. Coffee shop open in high season with free WiFi. Leading from the living room and kitchen is a large wrap around balcony on three sides with BBQ, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. A spiral staircase leads to a private roof terrace with sun beds.
With one twin bedroom fully furnished with fitted wardrobe and a set of drawers and bedside lockers, sliding doors leading onto the back balcony . An electronic safe has been fitted for the guests use. Smoke alarm and security screening of the main door are fitted for guests security.
Fully furnished lounge/dining room has a double sofe bed, coffee table, TV and DVD player. There is a dining table and seating for 4 people plus there is a breakfast bar in the kitchen. The kitchen is fully fitted with ceramic hob full size oven, cooker hood, microwave oven, fridge with small freezer box, washer/drier, kettle, toaster and coffee maker, iron and ironing board. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, w.c, bidet and wash basin with cabinet and illuminated mirror.

The property is on the second floor and has a large wrap around balcony on 3 sides....On the balcony outside the kitchen there is a BBQ and table and chairs to enjoy dinner al fresco. On the balcony outside the bedroom the sun rises every morning and coffee/breakfast can be enjoyed.
There is a lovely large private roof terrace with stunning views and the sun all day. Sun beds are available.
There is a lovely pool area with a small children's pool and a large adults salt water pool and a jacuzzi. We are only 3 minutes walk from the beach. Bicycles are available to hire locally. Coffee shop open high season. Free WiFi in coffee shop and around pool area.
Please remember to take out holiday insurance.
Cleaning is provided on change over days. If the booking is for 2 weeks there will be a mid change of bed linen and towels and a light clean. If extra cleaning is required it can be arranged locally and paid locally.
A returnable breakage deposit is required at time of booking of €100 which will be returned within two weeks of departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection)

The Algarve region
The Eastern Algarve is still relatively undiscovered as a major holiday destination and so Cabanas retains all the charm of a little fishing village. Cabanas is full of enchanting streets and is a living, traditional Algarvian community. The village is active all year round. Fresh fish meat and vegetables can all be purhcased locally. There are several supermarkets and bank link machines. Splendid beaches, restaurants and a multitude of leisure facilities. Stunning views from the cliff -top walk. Historical sites to visit locally are Estoi (palace), Milreu (Roman ruins) and the nature reserve.
Cabanas is located just two miles from the beautiful town of Tavira; a bustling fishing port with a variety of restaurants, roman architecture, markets, vineyards and seemingly endless beaches.
Tavira, otherwise known as ‘The Little Venice of Portugal’, in the 1500’s was a port of great strategic importance. The events of that period have left an enduring mark on the layout and appearance of the city. There are more than 15 stunningly designed churches and chapels throughout the city, each with its own story to tell.
Tavira also owes its appeal to the river and its reflections, to the changing nuances of the light and the special atmosphere of a town built on the water’s edge. In Tavira the traditional crafts can all be seen including the distinctive wrought ironwork and the Portuguese tradition of lace-making.
Locally caught fresh fish, grilled on an open fire the traditional way, is an obvious choice in any of the many restaurants combined with the red wines of the region.
Average annual temperatures in this part of the Algarve range from 16° - 31° Celsius, just one of the reasons why tourists from Europe keep coming back.
Costa de Cabanas
21 Costa de Cabanas is in a prime location in Cabanas, 3 minutes walk from beach front. This beach is accessible by boat, which ferries people to and fro all day long from April to Oct for 1Euro return. The beach has it's own cafe bar, changing facilities & toilet. Parasol, sunbeds, ski and paddle boat hire are all available.
Located in Cabanas de Tavira the surrounding lands of ‘Aldeia de Forteleza’ are protected by a preservation order allowing this development a guarantee of privacy and seclusion. Cabanas is quiet, yet not isolated, and is bursting with an old-style character that will appeal to even the most seasoned tourist.
Cabanas is a traditional village and you can walk along the palm tree lined road along the bay taking the opportunity to dine at one of the many cafes or restaurants which overlook the sea. The village is also a few minutes drive from the bustling market town of Tavira which is steeped in history and known locally as the Town of Churches as there are 22 churches in the locality! The town rests either side of the river with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants along the beautifully cobbled streets.
Cabanas is also only a 20 minute drive from the Portuguese/Spanish borders and you can drive across the magnificent suspension bridge across the River Guadiana to view a traditional part of Spain where many Spanish choose for their holidays. You can enjoy the best of two beautiful countries in one holiday!
There is a Railway Station at Conceirçao (10 minute’s walk from the apartment) from which you can travel the length of the Algarve from Vila Real De Santo Antonio, a historic market town renowned for its linen on the Spanish Border, all the way to Albufeira.
From the station at Vila Real, you can walk to the River Guadiana and catch the ferry which runs every 20 minutes across to the picturesque Spanish town of Ayamonte.
Cabanas is ideal base from which to sight see, play golf or simply enjoy a relaxing holiday within a very friendly comunity. It is a beautiful place and one to which you will surely wish to return.

The Benamor is just 5 minutes walk from Cabanas. Qunta Da Cima & Quinta Da Ria are located 6 KM east of Tavira.

This is the second visit in 8 months to this stunning apt. in beautiful Cabanas. With the wrap around balconies and fantastic roof terrace this is perfect to catch those rays. Inside is very comfortable and well equipped. The air con used to great benefit .
Joyce the owner arranged our taxi from the airport and Maria who looks after the place was there to greet us on arrival.
The apt is very well situated only a short stroll to the very good restaurants and supermarkets, there is an English speaking butcher for fresh Chicken and steaks to put on the BBQ.
If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place for you

A super apartment with the added bonus of lots of outdoor space. Very clean,quiet and well equipped.
On arrival we were met by Maria who showed us round and gave us information on where to find the best markets, supermarkets etc.
If you are looking for Benidorm and the bright lights then this is not for you but if watching the birds at the salt pans at Tavira, strolling on stunning beaches(try Barilla at Santa Luzia), watching fishermen land their catch,exploring bustling markets (Olhao on Saturdays is good),walking in the countryside or just soaking up the sun appeals then definitely book here.
A trip to the Spanish border is within easy reach (Alcoutim is very pretty) and do visit Faro,it is worth more than a glance on the way to the airport. We hired a car and so are unable to comment on ease of travel on pubic transport but the local station is a nearby.
There are are lots of places to eat out locally and all seem reasonably priced,our favourite was O Monteiro but lovely fresh local produce is easily available if you like to eat in.

The apartment is in a great location for restaurants and bars, just a few minutes walk to the center of Cabanas. It is very well equipped including tables to both front and back verandas, breakfast in the sun to the rear and dinner in the sun in the evening. The apartment is very clean and the air conditioning is fabulous. The built in BBQ to the front veranda is a great way to spend the evening over a couple of bottles of the local wines. The roof terrace is great for all day sunbathing. Cabanas has a fantastic choice of restaurants and bars. If you want a relaxing holiday in Portugal we highly recommend this apartment and location.

Returned from this apartment in June and can safely say what a great place to stay, we were looking for somewhere away from the big resorts and what a surprise Cabanas was. The apartment is perfect for a couple who like peace during the day with a private roof terrace to laze away the hours and in the evening just a short walk to the bars and restaraunts with plenty of choice for everybody. We hired a car but it is not needed unless you want to see a bit more of the Algarve, Tavira is a must for at least one evening a meal by the river and then a walk round the town what a gem. I would like to say if you want a stress free holiday this apartment is for you and we have recommended this to everybody since we returned.

"Beautiful and clean apartment"
We came away for a quiet holiday because of our life style, which we got at this property. You have to chance the weather in May time, but we were very lucky windy but warm in 10 days only 1 bad day. We found a pub called The Jolly Sailor, food was great a good menu from some of the fish restarants and the owners were very friendly. Our Penthouse apartment had a lovely wrap round balcony which gives you a choice of views and a good size sun roof where you can look over Cabanas and the mountains.

"Excellent Apartment in quite location."
We had a great holiday due to the high standard of this apartment. Just like being at home with all utilites you require.
This is my third time to stay in this apartment previous times I stayed with girl friends.
This was my husbands first visit and he was so impressed with the cleanliness of the apartment, the wrap around balconies and roof terrace.
Also the location is fantastic just few minutes walk to local restaurants and bars.
The pool area has wifi and a lovely cafe bar which serves really good food.
I would highly recommend this apartment for couples or a break with the girls.

"Another great stay in an amazing apartment"
This was our second time to the apartment for our holiday in Cabanas and we fell in love with the place and area even more!
Even in October the sun shines (only a couple days of rain) so we took full advantage of the private roof terrace, which is a sun trap with nice views of the sea. The huge wrap-around balcony in particular is a highlight allowing us to have breakfast and lunch (prepared in the apartments kitchin) in the Sun every day.
There is a very helpful guide book provide by Joyce (the owner) which suggests places to visit and the best restaurants in the area (take a look at my other reviews for the best Restaurants).
Just across the road from the apartment is the complex swimming pool. Good sized pool and also found it to be very quiet. Also can get a good WiFi connection there.
The apartment is clean, modern, warm and secure - this definately won't be our last visit!

"Great service and pleasant flat for a relaxing stay"
I booked this apartment with my fiance for our first holiday alone together. We had a really comfortable stay here. With the satelite TV and pull out sofa bed it felt like a home from home. There was two twin beds rather than a double, however when it is so hot I am not sure a double would be so inviting anyway.
Joyce was very accommodating and helped to arrange the taxi and the apartment manager to greet us. She also so kindly gave us some red and white wine in the fridge to start our holiday which was a lovely surprise.
The flat's charcoal grill, outside on the balcony was my favourite part of the apartment - we bought market fish and cooked this, and it was very tasty! There were already some condiments in the cupboards which were helpful. The beach umbrella too was also a welcomed item with the strength of the sun!
The area of the flat was really good too; with all amenities such as railway station, supermarket, beach and food market all within a 20 minute walk max. We visited other little towns such as Tavira (good) and Castro Marim (worth a miss due to the long walk to beach/town). A lot of the bars and restaurants have English menus and speaking waiters so it made it much easier to order!
All these factors made this holiday really easy and enjoyable for us. I would recommend this flat and service to anyone.
