Our apartment is a 2nd floor studio in a brand new beachfront complex built according to the highest standards. From the large private balcony opens an amazing panoramic view over the turquoise blue Atlantic Ocean, the endless white sanded beaches and the mountains behind. The sunrise from the ocean is absolutely unforgettable. Listening to the ocean or enjoying the sunshine in a suntrap at the outdoor swimming pool can give a complete relaxation.

The spectacular white sanded beach of Costa Calma is only 50 metres away. The shopping centre and supermarkets are in 10 minutes walking distance. There are various restaurants and bars around open until late hours. It is ideal for couples who need privacy and relaxation.

The Fuerteventura region

The Canary Islands consist of 7 islands in the Atlantic Ocean, Fuerteventura is the second biggest from them after Tenerife, and lies only 100 kms distance from the west coast of Africa, West -Sahara. Among the islands Fuerteventura obviously provides the most wonderful beaches of white sands and cristal clear, turqouise coloured water. Just like the Caribian.

There are more than 150 named beaches around the island, most of them well known among the water sport lovers. The most famous is called Sotavento de Jandia where the world championship of kite surf takes place every year in July-August. Fuerteventura enjoys more than 3000 sunny hours a year, ideal place for a sun break all year around.

Costa Calma area

The town of Costa Calma is situated at the narrowest part of Fuerteventura in the south, only 15 kms from Morro Jable the southest point of the island. Offers year around sunshine, tranquillity, ideal place to enjoy the wonderful southern beaches of the island, perfect destination for a relaxing holiday. The volcanic lunar landscape and also the enormous sand dunes make the landscape unique.
This area is famous among the water sports lovers, there are several wind-surfing schools, and kite surfing centres around. The world famous kite surf centre Sotavento de Jandia is only 3 kms away. Sailing, jet skiing, snorkling and diving deep sea fishing are also among the beach activities to be discovered.
There are four famous golf centres close, two in Caleta de Fuste (30 minutes drive), the one in Jandia (15 minutes drive), and one in Las Playitas (20 minutes drive).
Oasis Park Zoo in La Lajita ( 10 minutes drive) offers amusement for children and adults as well with its botanical gardens, animal shows, and camel rides.
The water park is located in the north of the island in Corraljo. (90 minutes drive)
Costa Calma has several good restaurants, bars, shopping centres, and also a twice weekly market on Wednesdays and Sundays.

How to get there

There are direct flights from most major airports from the UK and Ireland to Fuerteventura. Severeal websites offer flights for reasonable prices, including:

The closest airport is Puerto del Rosario (60km). Local buses run regularly between the airport and Costa Calma. It is higly recommended to hire a car to discover the island. The local car hire company is Cicar offering competitive prices among the well known European car hire companies. Reservations can be made in advance on their web site: www.cicar.com
Ferries sail from Corralejo to Lanzarote, and from Morro Jable (Jandia) to Gran Canaria (Las Palmas).

The studio has a fully equipped kitchen, all the furniture of the living area is new, designed at high standard. The bathroom is with an extra big sized shower. Towels are provided, but please use your own beach towels at the beach or pool area.

The studio provides a large balcony with sunbeds, chairs and table. Suitable to outdoor dining.
The complex has an unheated swimming pool with artificial waterfall, surrounded by sunbeds free to use. The tennis court of the complex is also free of charge.
There are parking places at both entrances of the complex.

"We had a really lovely time in Costa Calma, I did some windsurfing and my partner some sunbathing. We found some very good restaurants close to the apartment, one right by the sea shore.
The apartment was just as described in the advertisement and a complete delight.
Wonderfully located apartment, only meters from a beautiful, wide, clean, sandy beach. Further beaches can be accessed round different headlands, some of which are used by naturists. Beach facilities include toilets, sun bed hire, bars and windsurf hire and tuition. We found the area clean, quiet and very relaxing. Some really nice restaurants are within a short stroll away, with one right on the edge of the beach! At night (if you leave the patio window open) you can drift off to sleep to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach. Breathtaking sunsets can be viewed from the apartment (we have sent the owner some photos). The island is well served by buses and car hire is available. Costa Calma is definitely more up-market than other places on the island and this well finished apartment ensures a fantastic holiday."

"We wanted to escape the cold english winter and had visited Jandia for a short break before so thought we'd try Costa Calma. It is a quiet mostly German resort about 45 mins from the airport, with a nice beach and good walks along the coast. The studio apartment was very well kept, perfectly equipped for a self catering stay and a lovely view from the balcony.
Marcus at Los Hibicos office was helpful as was Verena in welcoming us. We were extremely relaxed by the end of the week & would definitely recommend this place for a chilled break."
