The Tenerife region

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands. It is is located 200 miles off the west coast of Africa and has a large population. The main feature of the Island is Mount Teide , which is an extinct volcano , standing at 3718m (12198 feet) , it is the tallest mountain in all of Spain.

The 2 ends of the island are very different, the North being green and lush with a certain amount of rainfall.The south of the island being hot and dry , that is why it is so popular with holiday-makers all year round.
The main feature of the Island is Mount Teide , which is an extinct volcano , standing at 3718m or 12198 feet, making it the tallest mountain in all of Spain .

This island has one of the best climates in Europe, with temperatures varying from 21 to 30 Degrees , throughout the year. The trade winds that blow across the Canary Islands ensure the average temperature stays at around 23-25 degrees, it is never too hot.

The Costa Adeje / Playa del Duque area

Playa del Duque is a newly built resort on the Costa Adeje and it is a well maintained, with easy access to all surrounding areas. It still has a quieter and more reserved atmosphere than other resorts in Tenerife and is also very good for water sports. You can easily get into Playa de las Americas by bus when you want to ttry out the nightlife around.
This more up market area is more suited for people not wanting an intense night life but a more refined qand family friendly holiday enjoying the good location, fine restaurants and good facilities.
The majority of hotels, restaurants, bars, cafes and shopping centres are of a high class quality.
Most of the hotels in the resort are very large and tend to be either 4 or 5 star high class hotels

Beach
The famous Playa Del Duque beach is a 5 minute walk as is also the more 'fun in the sun style' Fanabe beach. Playa del Duque features beautiful sun loungers under wide rafia sunshades. Overlooked by the Hotel Bahia del Duque - see if you can spot the stars. Fanabe Beach is also a lovely beach with fun activities for the kids big and and small both on and off it. The recent addition of a floating climbing/bouncing emporium in the near shore just goes to enhance the fun.

Golf
The Costa Adeje Golf course which has 2 courses (a small 9 hole one and a championship grade course) has been used for the European Ladies Open event recently and continues to be a beautiful and popular course. Please contact owner should you require weblink addresses.

Travel
Set in the heart of Costa Adeje, the Tenerife South Airport (Tenerife Sur) is a 15 minute drive away - (Approx 30-35 euros by taxi). A car is not required, but if you are a golfer or keen explorer then we would recommend one. A double garage is included if required. If you just want to explore for a day or two we would suggest you take a taxi to the villa and maybe rent a car for a day from one of the many nearby rental shops.

Distances
It takes approx 1 hour to get from the villa to Puerto de la Cruz about the same to get to Mount Teide. 40 Mins to Los Gigantes.
If you are a nature lover you might consider a day trip to La Gomera (a small island nearby). Ferries go regularly from Los Christianos (10 min drive).

Further details
There are two shopping centres within about 2 minutes walk from the villa. Plaza del Duque is a very glamorous centre with some very expensive (and some not so) shops. But also for more basic needs, there is another centre also 2 minutes walk in the opposite direction housing a large supermarket, intersport, newsagent, exchange and other stores.

In 2009 the great Siam Park was opened. This is about 10 minutes drive away, but there is a regular free bus. A fantastic new water park and must do for families with (or even without) children. Please contact owner should you require weblink addresses.

“Fabulous villa, fabulous location - couldn't ask for more” We stayed here in September 2012 as a family with 4 generations ranging from 8 months to 80+ years old. We were extremely impressed with what we saw. The villa had an area suitable for every member of the family ranging from a glorious garden with private warm swimming pool, quiet chilled out patio area, sheltered indoor garden and a games area with football / basketball net. The villa was very spacious and on 3 floors with excellent facilities (home from home). It is spotless and equipped with anything you could want. The villa could not be more central to restaurants, shops, bars and the promenade / beach - all serving a range of cuisines for all budgets. Valery - the friendly owner was there to meet us on arrival and kept in contact whenever we had queries about the local area. All in all - a perfect peaceful villa and a fabulous holiday - looking forward to our return.

“Excellent Villa in great location” Staying in this villa really made our holiday. It was lovely and clean when we arrived with plenty of towels in all the bedrooms, even towels to use around the pool. There's just so much space inside and the outside space is great too. Our boys loved the football and basketball nets but not as much as the pool :-) We had a couple of problems but Valery the owner was quick to respond and resolve and was extremely friendly. Would highly recommend a visit as though in a lovely quiet spot was just a couple of minutes from the Plaza Del Duque shopping center which has a supermarket which sold everything we needed, and a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction to lots of restaurants. We had planned to hire a car but in the end didn't bother as there was just no need.

“Fabulous spacious clean villa in excellent location would go back again!” The villa is situated in a fabulous location, walking distance to shops, supermarkets & beaches. No real need to have a car unless you want to travel around the island. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed playing in the pool which was heated and when it was too hot there were 2 large TVs plus a Wii to keep them entertained. Lovely villa, lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, could easily stay with another family and we intend to return next year!!
