The Tuscany region
Tuscany that must be lived, visited, travelled in every small village, in every centre of art, in every atmosphere. Parish churches, palaces, castles and squares offer a singular furnishing for unique architectonic styles. And once again the femininity of its kitchen, of its products that tempt you after having delighted, elsewhere, your sight. The woman certainly has settled herself in this territory still before the dawning of history. From the pleasant marine coasts up to the tops drown by the wind; from the silvery streams to the prosperous swollen hills with rich harvest: all, in Tuscany, speaks to the feminine. Various cultures follow one another uninterruptedly for centuries and others have visited, in various periods, its fortified places.. Each of them leaving fertile traces, just like the feminine essence, as rich contaminations of their passage. From the Bronze Age, from the Etruscans to Middle Ages, to the Renaissance.
Cortona area
Cortona, the main town of the municipality is perched up on a hill at a towering height of 600 metres a.s.l. and offers a stunning view of the Valdichiana valley stretching at its feet, the mountains surrounding it and lake Trasimeno. The eye of the tourist coming to Cortona will be immediately caught by the commending Etruscan City walls dating back to the late 5th century b.C. and surrounding the town in a rectangular shape for almost 2 miles. Cortona offers plenty of attractions: Etruscans, in particular, who made the town rich and important for centuries, have left behind significant historical evidence preserved in the local Museo dell’Accademia Etrusca.
