Villa Sorbello is where you will find peace and tranquillity.
The owners have recently refurbished the villa to a very high standard (2004) and have throughly dedicated themselves to the slightest attention to details. Stroll along the 300 square meters of this sunny and bright tuscan home and walk bare feet on the terracotta floors, cook using the fresh herbs found in the garden and use one of the many table sets found in the antique wooden belief.

At the front of the villa there is a large swimming pool (14m x 6m, open from early May to late September) surrounded by olive trees and overlooking the open countryside.
The villa is set in large lawned gardens and is situated in its own private wooded park.
At the back of the villa the lounge opens out onto a private furnished terrace with a barbeque and onto the extensive pretty grounds which overlook the woods. Large covered barn. In-built barbecue.

Cortona area

CORTONA is Magnificently situated, with olives and vineyards creeping up to its walls, one of Tuscany’s prettiest villages and also being one of the most well know, thanks to the book ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’.

From the valley floor a 5km road winds up to the hill top town, which commands sweeping views over Lago Trasimeno and the plain of Valdichiana. Cortona is one of the oldest cities in Tuscany. Founded by the Etruscans whose works can still be seen in the foundations of the town’s massive stone walls.

The city was a major seat of power during the medieval period, able to hold its own against larger towns such as Siena and Arezzo.

TIPS Cortona is very steep, so avoid the hottest hours of the day.

Sunday afternoon gets very busy with Italian visitors.

The heart of Cortona is at Piazza della Repubblica, from here you will find many good restaurant.

Don’t try to park in the centre of Cortona. Head instead for the car parks around the town walls, aiming to park close to one of the gateways – Porta Santa Maria, Porta Colonia or Porta Sant’Agostino.

Every year for about a week from late August FIERA ANTIQUARIA and 14th and 15th August Sagra della Bistecca (steak festival)
