Home description
The apartment is located at first floor of a beautiful family house with a large garden available for guests. It is ideal for a couple with a baby, in love with Tuscany and its fantastic itineraries. The other two apartments of the house are occupied by my family and my brother in law's one.
The house is on the hill of Cortona, next to the Village of Camucia, surrounded by olive trees, at walking distance from the train and bus stations (7 to 10 minutes).
The most beautiful towns of Tuscany an Umbria could be easily reached by train or bus so it is not necessary to have a car during your stay. We could facilitate your arrival and departure (transfers free of charge). Cooking class available on request.

The Tuscany region
The heart of Italy. The location of apartment (Cortona), not far from Siena and Florence, on the border of the Chianti wine region and close Umbria, is perfect to visit the Tuscan countryside and many of central Italy's most important cultural and holiday attractions.
Cortona area
Cortona, one of the finest hill towns in Italy was featured in the the Francis Mayes book 'Under the Tuscan Sun' which was also made into a very successful film. The town has cobbled streets, fascinating shops, an abundance of restaurants and a history that can take weeks to explore.
Cortona offers open-air operas in the Summer, the Tuscany Sun Festival (in August), classical concerts in churches and in the local theater , jazz-festivals , wine and food tasting , medieval plays.

You can reach Cortona by train. The nearest train station is Camucia-Cortona well connected with Rome, Arezzo, Florence, Bologna, Pisa, Perugia. Further details indoors: Apartment has very recently been restored, is finely furnished and very comfortable for 2 people with a baby. It is equipped with all washing facilities (washing machine, dishwasher) TV in the lounge and in the bedroom. At arrival you will find all the necessary goods to avoid you to rush to the supermarket (olive oil, pasta, fruit, water, salt, parmesan cheese, etc...). In case you have further needs please let us know.
Further details outdoors: The large garden, with a breathtaking view of Cortona, is a private area with a solarium where you can relax and read under the shadow of a large oak tree. A secure parking space is available free of charge. The Trasimeno Lake and its beautiful coastal villages is reachable by train (15 mimutes) or by car (same time). We admit small pets (cats, small dogs).

Ensure to buy your own travel insurance to cover any medical treatment while away, luggage lost in transit and transport delays. Prices are for the apartment per week. One third of amount will be requested as advance at confirmation of booking. Payment of rest of amount will be done at arrival. For stays shorter that a week (min 3 days) the cost is 50 Euros per person per day. Weekly change of linen and towels, use of washing-machine are included. Change of linen and towels could be done more frequently but cost will be 10 euro per change. Coffee, olive oil, salt, mineral water, fruit, garlic and all necessary for the first "pasta" will be available inside apartment. A bottle of good red or white wine will be offered.
During period between 1 October 2007 and 30 April 2008 utilities (power, water and gas) are not included. A fixed amount of 30 euro per week will be requested. Between April and September 2008 power will be payed according to consumption. End-of-stay cleaning is not included. Cost is 30 Euro per booking. Special prices will be considered for long stay. A 5% discount will be applied for confirmations received before 31 December 2007. A deposit of 150 Euro will be requested at arrival and returned before departure.
