Home description
The house nestles in a pretty valley surrounded by wooded hills, and is approached from the village by a good white road. There is another farmhouse nearby where our Italian neighbours live. The apartment is South facing and the beautiful views over the fields and hills can be enjoyed from the covered terrace where most guests have all their meals. There is ample opportunity for walking anywhere in the countryside and a riding stable about 2 miles away. The village has 2 bars both with shops attached and there is a small restaurant with its own oven for home-made pizzas as well as pastas and typical meat dishes from the region.

The Tuscany region
The house is on the border of Tuscany and Umbria which gives a mixture of the heat and dryness of Tuscany and the greenness of the Umbrian hills. The area is a wonderful base for the artistic delights to be found in numerous smaller hill-top towns as well as the more famous sites.
Cortona area
Cortone is an Etruscan city with narrow cobbled streets and many beautiful buildings. It has good shops for antiques, pottery and clothes, and scores of bars and restaurants. There are festas in most small villages as well as the larger cities - celebrating everything from mushrooms to polenta. The world famous Jazz festival is held in Perugia in July with Gospel choirs and well-known bands.
How to get there
Flights are now available to Perugia from Stansted, London - Perugia is about an hours' drive from the house. You can also fly to Ancona or Forli (Bologna) --2 hours Rome or Pisa --3hours. All are served by Ryanair.

Further details indoors: The main bedroom has an antique four-poster bed and en-suite shower room. There are french windows leading to the covered terrace. The twin bedded room also has an en-suite shower room and kitchen facilities so that couples can be independant if they wish. Some guests like to have breakfast in their own room and eat other meals together. The main kitchen/dining room has dining table and a dresser with ample crockery, glasses, pans etc There is another shower room off this room. There is a small sitting room with satellite TV, DVD and Video with access to the garden.
Further details outdoors: The apartment is the whole of the ground floor, and the English owners live upstairs - quietly !! They are always available to give help or advice if needed. Cars are parked at the front of the house and there is a garden for guests' use with sunbeds for those who like to read or just relax in the sun. The area is perfect for visiting such famous places as Siena, Assissi, Orvieto and many many others, and some guests like to take the opportunity of visiting Florence or Rome.

The apartment sleeps 4 and linen is provided, changed for 2 week bookings after the first week. It will be ready for your arrival between 4 and 8pm on the Saturday
