The Fuerteventura region

This understated island is, in our opinion, the most beautiful of all the Canary Islands. It is ideal for families and couples of all ages, offering fabulous Carribbean-style beaches and an enviable climate all year round. The warm and friendly atmosphere created by the locals really helps to make this a memorable holiday. The majority of the buildings in Fuerteventura are low-level traditional Canarian style bungalows offering superb views across the island.

There is a busy market in Corralejo which takes place twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, always good for a bargain! Why not take the opportunity to stock up on quality local produce to make the most of your self-catering Canarian experience.

The Corralejo / La Capellania area

Nearby Corralejo offers a great choice of nightlife activities including a great selection of bars and restaurants and hosts a thriving market twice a week on Fridays and Mondays. Our villa in La Capellania boasts a cinema complex and a large and well-stocked supermarket on-site which also offers a variety of hot take-away meals throughout the day should you be too relaxed to cook! Tapas bar, with Sports bar, should you wish to have a flutter on the horses.

. It's easy to find your way in and around the residential area of La Capellania which is well-maintained with lovely landscaped gardens.

Outwith La Capellania, only a 5 minute drive, you will find Baku Waterpark, ten-pin bowling and a golf driving range a short distance away. There is also a zoo to the south of the island where you will find more beautiful sandy beaches.

Fly to Fuerteventura Airport with Mytravel or Thomas Cook from Glasgow, Manchester , Newcastle, Gatwick, Easa Jet fly from Liverpool . Online deals are generally the best value, with www.thomascookflights.co.uk or www.mytravel.co.uk, to name but a few. La Capellania is only a 40 minute drive from the airport. For a 10 day break it is possible to fly to lanzerote on a Thursday and return 10 days later on the Sunday. Using only 6 days holiday from work.

Car hire is advised, to get the most of this beautiful Island , and there are a variety of rental companies operating on the island. Try www.travelsupermarket.com for cheap car hire. Avis, Cicar, Holiday autos, again online deals offer the best prices. There is also a taxi rank situated directly outside the front entrance of the airport. The fare should be under 40 Euros.

My husband,two boys aged 16 and11,and myself had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful villa.It had everything we needed and more,the games consules were a touch of genius for the children and even my husband had alot of fun using them.The villa was just a nice stroll to the supermarket and bus stop,it was fine even for myself and i use a walking stick.The villa itself was absolutely spotless and the couple who maintain it(Merv and his wife) were lovely,really helpful.This villa we would return to in a heartbeat and we would definitely recommend it to friends and family.It only took a few minutes in the taxi to reach Corralejo ,which we did every evening to try the restaurants,and we also spent my sons 11 birthday on the island of lobos,there are beautiful beaches there and also lovely water,but if you are there in the summer like we were make sure you use lots of sun cream.Look

This villa is in an ideal location and is beautifully furnished. The private pool and patio area are great. Corralejo is close at hand and there is a brilliant bus service into the town and to the beach.

We have stayed in a number of villas over the past few years but the standard of this villa in terms of furnishings and service of ellie and Ian shone head and shoulders over the rest. It was easy to find in a quiet location but close enough to all amentities and the wonderful beaches. We had a fantastic stay, only bad thing was it had to come to an end. We had no problems at all, and everything was dealt with in a professional and friendly manner from the moment we booked. Would we go back, in the words of our children WHEN! Oct 2007 Karen & Murray This was our first time in Fuerteventura apart from a day visit from lanzarote,Being completely honest,it was the villa that made it so special,we hired a car at the airport,which was a company Ian recomended,with directions also given by Ian we found the place simply.On entry to the villa,one of the first things our two girls saw was a beautiful big Christmas tree with lights,we found that alone was such a lovely warm welcome,we couldnt fault the villa in anyway,Ian and Elle must be very proud and they have thought of everything.The girls especialy loved the pool,the bikes and the games,at night we all played millionaire on the play station or watched a dvd,there is ones to suit all ages,also the cds catered for everyones taste,i dont think i would have room to list everything good about it,even mags to read and brochures of all the attractions.we had a barbacue and ate out a few times but also cooked at the villa,the kitchen is first class(as is the rest of the villa)it had everything you could possibly want even plastic dishes for your picnics.We went all over the Island and found some lovely places,two of my favourites being El Cotillo and La Oliva but we all loved Jandia and the sandunes of Corralejo,the girls loved Corralejo at night too and only being down the road we went there a lot,we also found plenty of parks everywhere,especially in Caleta de Fuste.Fuerteventura is a beautiful Island and we would go again although its not our favourite place,we have been to all the Canaries as well as other Countries,we go away usually twice a year and of all the accommodation we have stayed in this one puts all the others in the shade,Thanks once again Ian and Elle for a lovely Holiday,we will stay again.It would be lovely if you had villas to rent on the other Islands too.Regards Gail,Les and girls from Liverpool
