The Fuerteventura region
Fuerteventura is generally guaranteed to have sunshine all the year round with the average temperatures being 25c. It is still one of the quieter Islands of the Canaries and is ideal for those looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Its white sandy beaches are among the very best in Europe. The Ocean is crystal clear tourquoise water and Fuerteventura's coastline is famous for its windsurfing conditions. Situated on the Northern tip, Corralejo is one of the most popular resorts on the island. There is normally a cool breeze and the island is ideal for scuba diving, fishing and other watersport activities.
Corralejo / Palm Springs Corralejo area
Palm Springs is located on avenida Fuerteventura just 10 to 15 minutes stroll into the town centre of Corralejo. The nearest beach is 5 minutes walk away and there are a number of small beaches along the coast line walking into town. A 15 minute walk in the opposite direction will take you to the spectacular famous sand dunes. Corralejo once used to be a small fishing village and the town centre and harbour now has some fantastic restaurants, bars and cafes. It has all the character of an old town and also has a music square with plenty of late night entertainment !
How to get there
In the summer months there are flights from most major airports on a Wednesday and Saturday, with companies such as Thomas cook, Thomson, First choice.
In the winter there are many options for flights for the best buys try www.ryanair,com they fly from 28th October to April and currently fly from Dublin, Shannon, Stanstead, East Midlands, Birmingham and liverpool most of which are 3 times a week!
