Home description

A luxurious & spacious semi-detached villa sleeping up to 6 people. There are 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, cloakroom, open plan living/dining room and fully fitted kitchen. The property is furnished to a very high standard.

Upstairs there is a fabulous superking 4-poster bed, Air Conditioning, large fitted wardrobe, safe & en suite shower room & a twin room 2 single beds with mirrored wardrobe, Air Conditioning, complete with TV, playstation2 & over 150 games. The third twin bedroom has 2 single beds with mirrored wardrobe, Air Conditioning and a sea view. The four poster room & twin rooms have french doors opening out onto a small 'Juliet' balcony which overlooks the heated swimming pool. All bedrooms have ample storage & are beautifully furnished.

The Fuerteventura region

FUERTEVENTURA

The second largest of the Canary Islands, but considered the oldest, has a warm & dry climate the whole year, with cooling breezes generally from the North East the island is a hotbed for Watersports.

The popular resorts on the island are in Corralejo in the North with it's miles of superb white sandy beaches and Caleta de Fuste on the East coast with it's Championship Golf Course.

Inland there are many charming villages such as Betancuria, at one time the islands capital, Tefia, Villaverde and Antigua.

Morro Jable lies in the South of the island with miles of beautiful beaches and scenery, worth a visit in this area is Cofete, home to the Winter Villa which is the shape of the island and curiously the position of the villa lies in the same position as it's location on the island. Allied ships were frequently attacked by German submarines that surrounded and protected this small island from prying eyes.

Historical accounts now tend to suggest that Villa Gustav Winter acted as a safe house for top escaping Nazis most probably heading to America.

Its isolated location next to the Atlantic and its natural mountain shelter would have been an ideal rendezvous point for Nazi leaders arriving by submarine and seeking a safe haven until they could slip into anonymity after the war.

Another myth that has grown is that Vila Gustav Winter was a halfway house not only providing safe haven but also a hospital where plastic surgeons operated to give their overlords new faces to match their new identities.

In an interview shortly before her death, the widow of Gustav Winter firmly denied the allegations levelled at her late husband over the years.

She denied that the villa had ever had connections to the Nazis or that it was built as a hideaway for Adolf Hitler – she said the infamous villa was built for the simple reason of exploiting agriculture in the area.

El Cotillo a charming coastal town in the North of the island is famous for it's Lagoons and Seafood Restaurants.

The capital Puerto Del Rosario is home to the only airport on the island.

There is a Championship Golf Course in Caleta de Fuste 35 mins by car and Go Karting in Cardon & Puerto Del Rosario.


Corralejo area

CORRALEJO

Once a small fishing village Corralejo is the most popular resort on the island, it has many bars and restaurants which caters for all tastes and has a variety of flavours from several continents. Lying just 8 miles from Playa Blanca Lanzarote, you can take a fast boat from Corralejo harbour and be on Lanzarote in just 25 minutes.

Just to the South of the town is it's gem the sand dunes of the Parque Natural with Flag Beach it's pinnacle, where you can hire equipment for a variety of Watersports www.flagbeach.com
Corralejo caters for all ages and there's a wide variety of things to do, from watersports, tennis, Glass bottom boat trips, Ferry trips to Lanzarote, Jeep Safaris, Island tours, Mountainbiking, Motorbike tours, Quad Biking, Paintballing, Sea Fishing, Paragliding, Kite Flying etc. The Baku Water Park provides hours of fun for the whole family. There is a cinema, tenpin bowling alleys and a market open mondays and fridays.

The location is approximately 30 mins drive from the international airport in the capital of Puerto del Rosario and approximately 5 mins by car into the main resort of Corralejo (about 5 Euros in a taxi). The nearest supermarket is approx 15 mins walk or 3 mins away by car.

The famous sand dune beaches are approx 5 mins drive, though there are some lovely beaches in and around Corralejo which are clean & safe for small children (approx 25 mins walk).

There are many other lovely beaches on the island, including the lagoons at El Cotillo (about 20 mins drive) and also some lovely places to visit in the canarian villages. The roads are extremely good and never crowded - driving around the island is a pretty relaxing experience & well worth the effort!

Downstairs is a large open plan lounge/dining area with french doors opening out into the back garden area, and to the pool. The room has a comfortable leather sofa with recliners at each end, a 40" LCD TV, Satellite TV with over 500 channels inc. SKY Movies, SKY Sports etc. DVD player, with a Film Library of over 500 DVD's & hi-fi system which plays CD's, Cassettes, Mini Discs and FM & AM Radio. There is a dining table seating 6 and a Computer with broadband internet access. In the teak cabinet are books, board games and audio CD books.
The Lounge/ Diner is Air Conditioned.

The separate spacious kitchen has a stainless steel oven & ceramic hob, grill,dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, deep fat fryer, plenty of crockery, cutlery, pans, etc - pretty much everything you need for that home from home holiday, but in the sun!

The villa is fully alarmed, with a simple keyfob operation for your convenience.

Stairs from the landing outside the bedrooms lead to the upper roof terrace/solarium where there is a dining table for 6 and 4 sun loungers, the roof terrace is front line overlooking the sand dunes of the parque natural, with a panoramic view of montana roja, los lobos island and Lanzarote.

At the front of the villa is a private driveway with an electrically operated gate, making it safe for children. There is also plenty of parking space immediately in front of the driveway.

THE COMPLEX

Mirador de Las Dunas is a residential complex situated in the Parque Natural area on the edge of the ever popular town of Corralejo, with its stunning beaches, friendly and relaxed atmosphere and abundant shops and restaurants.

The complex is in a front-line position to the beautiful, protected sand dunes of Corralejo, with unimpeded views of the sea & the islands of Lobos & Lanzarote. It is bordered by protected park land & also has panoramic mountain views.

It is within a secure gated community & has a large communal swimming pool area with a wonderful lagoon style pool & a smaller shallow pool for children. There is also a hot tub and paddle tennis court soon to be constructed.

As the complex is a residential one and also brand new, there are currently very few residents, so it is the perfect place to literally 'get away from it all'! It is amazingly quiet and tranquil & the chances are, the whole pool area will be deserted!
