The Canary Islands region
With three thousand hours of sunshine a year, Fuerteventura is the closest Canary Island to the African coast with only 100km separating the island from Morrocco and is the second largest (after Tenerife) of all the islands.
There is no other island in the Canaries with as many sand dunes and long sandy beaches (more than one hundred and fifty). Even though most of the land on Fuerteventura consists of stone and rock, this island has some of the most impressive beaches in the whole of Europe. Approx 98km long and 30km across at the widest point.
In the history of time Fuerteventura is generally regarded as the oldest of all the Canaries and its strange contours come from various volcanic eruptions. The last eruption occurred about 7,000 years ago so you're pretty safe!
Water sports are very popular in Fuerteventura. Every year hundreds of surfers, windsurfers, kitesurfers, and divers descend on Fuerteventura and during July the island is host to the P.W.A world windsurfing speed and slalom event at Sotavento in the south.
Its miles and miles of broad sandy beaches and golden sand dunes make Fuerteventura the ideal holiday resort for everyone
Corralejo which was once a small fishing village, has now grown into a lively colourful town.
Luckily, Corralejo has managed to retain its original charm and atmosphere, and there are still white sandy beaches in the town centre, where you can soak up the Canarian sunshine.
Most of the shops, bars and restaurants are along the Corralejo main street which leads right down through the music square and on to the harbour which looks across the other side of town and the sand dunes.
These dunes (which are a protected nature reserve) lie just beyond the town. The dunes spread for miles along the east coast and this is what makes Corralejo such a popular resort.
No building work is allowed on this area with the exception of the two main hotels in the north, The Hotel Riu Palace and the Riu Oliva beach.
You can still find some of the original houses in Corralejo, these are simple and quaint but most have now been transformed into shops and restaurants.
Corralejo caters for all ages and there's a wide variety of things to do, from watersports, tennis, Glass bottom boat trips, Ferry trips to Lanzarote, Jeep Safaris, Island tours, Mountainbiking, Motorbike tours etc..

"Lovely villa in a good location"
Excellent modern villa with all the facilities you have at home. Very clear driving instructions from the airport so no wrong turnings! Villa very clean on arrival and unexpected extra's left in the kitchen - water, milk, tea, coffee etc
In a quiet neighbourhood where everyone was friendly, always easy parking right outside.
Despite some cloudy weather our stay was fantastic and would recommend this villa to everyone and if we visit Fuerteventura again would certainly stay here again
Thank you for sharing your villa with us

"Very well presented comfortable property"
The villa is on a quiet road with parking right outside. It was really spacious inside the villa with loads of room for 6 people. The kitchen was really well equipped with everything we needed. The lounge had lovely new comfortable furniture. Upstairs there were 3 double comfy bedrooms with 2 bathrooms which were very clean. Outside there was a lawned area with a pool which we liked to cool off in. The villa is situated just outside town, but close enough to either walk or drive into every night. We went to the dunes beaches a lot for a change of scenery, as they were only 10 mins drive away. All in all we had a fabulous holiday at this villa and can't wait until the next time we visit Fuerteventura and we would certainly book this villa again.
Thank you for your comments regarding our villa. It was a pleasure to have you to stay and look forward to welcoming you again on your next visit

"Fantastic modern, clean accommodation in central location close to local ammenities."
I would recommend this villa to friends and families alike. The owners had left clear instructions detailing what to do on arrival and before departure. The villa was clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. It boasted a generous pool and a number of balconies so that you could enjoy the beautiful weather.
The villa was close to a very large supermarket, with all of the essentials you may require during your stay. The kitchen was well equipped, meaning that staying in with a glass of wine and some home cooked food was an enjoyable experience. If you did want to venture out, you could walk on a path along the beach all the way to the main strip of restaurants and bars. The villa itself was only a short taxi ride away from the airport.
All in all a fantastic stay that I couldn't recommend more!
We are glad you enjoyed your stay at our villa and appreciate your very kind comments. We are very proud of our villa and took a lot of care and consideration when choosing the furnishings. We look forward to welcoming you to stay again, the next time you visit Fuerteventura.
