About the home

Villa Renata is one of our specialities in that it is a characterful older style Canarian villa within a walled garden and a private lockable door that takes you straight onto the beach! The cultivated garden is large enough to contain a pool (unheated). There is also a lovely and unusual hexagonal shaded eating area with outdoor table and chairs where you can eat very privately or entertain friends - perhaps to tapas and sangria or a full evening meal? All this to the relaxing sound of the sea on the beach the other side of your garden wall! Through the garden door and onto the beach you can walk, swim, fish or just watch the world go by. A short five minute walk along the beach brings you into the picturesque seaside town and port of Correlejo where shops, good quality restaurants and entertainment abound. We are delighted to be able to offer this really charming holiday location.

The Fuerteventura region

The beauty of Fuerteventura is complemented by the neighbouring islet of Lobos, which is a boat ride from the pure white beaches of Corralejo in the north.

Lobos gets its name from the sea-lions that used to live there five hundred years ago. It is now administered by Fuerteventura although it is almost uninhabited. El Faro (the lighthouse) guides the fishermen working off its coasts. Between this islet of less than six square kilometres and Corralejo is a seabed unique for its beautiful cliffs, trenches, caves and tunnels that hold large shoals of shallow water fish.

Fuerteventura wraps you in its soft gentle ways. Its sandy reaches blend with volcanic landscapes of immense flats and low volcanic cones, described as 'an oasis in the desert of civilisation' by poet and philosopher, Miguel de Unamuno. Over the centuries, Fuerteventura has forged its character from the sea. First it was the mythical land of Atlantis, then a place of adventure for British corsairs, fishermen, exiles, and finally a place for anyone fleeing from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The Corralejo area

The Isle of Lobos owes its name to the number of seals that used to visit the island while emigrating and stands proudly as one of Europe's last remaining virgin nature............ The sand dunes were designated a Natural Park in 1994 by the Government and have become a popular tourist attraction. As well, the large variety of birds found within the park has placed it, along with the Isle of Lobos, within the 'Special Protected Zone for Wild Birds'. Corralejo's close proximity to the island's economic centre and the port joining Fuerteventura with Lanzarote make it easily accessible to thousands of visitors annually reserves...
