The Fuerteventura region
Fuerteventura is one of the canary islands which has an all year round warm climate similar to that of florida and mexico, a sea breeze keeps the humidity low. Flight times from uk is approx 4 hours.
With three thousand hours of sunshine a year, Fuerteventura is the closest Canary Island to the African coast with only 100km separating the 'Punta de la Entallada' from Cape Juby in Morroco and is the second largest (after Tenerife) of all the islands.
There is nowhere else in the Canaries with as many enormous sand dunes and long sandy beaches (more than one hundred and fifty). Even though most of the land consists of stone and rock, these are some of the most impressive beaches in the whole of Europe. Approx 98km long and 30km across at the widest point. In the history of time Fuerteventura is generally regarded as the oldest of all the Canaries and its strange contours come from various volcanic episodes. Water sports are very popular in Fuerteventura. There are many new attractions inviting tourists to discover different aspects of the Island's landscape and culture such as the Betancuria Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography and Tefia Craft Village to name but a few.
plenty of night life, restaurants to cater for all tastes and family bars, golf one of the finest in Europe is 10 mins drive
With tourism booming on Fuerteventura, Corralejo, situated in the north, is one of the most popular resorts on the island. More and more apartments are springing up each year to cope with the demand, and Corralejo which was once a small fishing village, has now grown into a lively colourful town.
Luckily, Corralejo has managed to retain its original charm and atmosphere, and there are still white sandy beaches in the town centre, where you can 'drop down' and soak up the Canarian sunshine. The water is calm and very child fiendly with beach bars to have a cool afternoon cocktail to cool you down.
Most of the shops, bars and restaurants are along the main street which leads right down through the music square and on to the harbour which looks across the other side of town and the sand dunes. Restaurants are plentiful with all different tastes to cater for. There are also lots of bars with family entertainment from elvis look-a-likes to quiznights and drag shows, or you can have a quiet relaxing meal and drink in many of the harbourside restaurants, many which have been old canarian style houses which have been converted.
The sand dunes are a protected nature reserve which lie just beyond the town and spread along the east coast miles of white sand is what makes coralejo such a popular resort.
Corralejo caters for all ages and there's a wide variety of things to do, from watersports, tennis, Glass bottom boat trips, Ferry trips to Lanzarote, Jeep Safaris, Island tours, Mountainbiking, Motorbike tours waterpark, themepark, bungi jumps, trampolines, amusements, golf - 10 min drive.

Thank you for the lovely holiday we had staying at your apartment. The apartment was ideal and the location in the complex was superb - sun all day on the balcony ! The food at the pool bar was excellent and very reasonable as was the sangria. We will definitely be returning to Atlantic Gardens

We have just returned from a week at your apartment and I would just like to tell you we had a great time. Your aparment was very nice. We didnt go out much in the evening as we have young children, however the balcony was great to sit out in the evening. The children had a great time, the children's pool was just right for them and very safe. Thanks again would recommend this apartment.

We were really pleased with the apartment. Very clean and felt a bit like home from home with the homely comforts you have. We really appreciated the welcome pack as our flight was late at night. Everything we needed was virtually on our doorstep no need to drive anywhere, even the waterpark. Loved Correlejo plenty of good restaurants and the weather was fantastic (march).
