The island is generally guaranteed to have sunshine all year round with the average temperatures being 25c. Its literal meaning is "strong wind". Fuerteventura's coastline is famous for its ideal windsurfing conditions. The island is less populated than its neighbours with most of the inhabitants living in the capital of Puerto del Rosario. However it is the second largest island in the Canaries, only slightly smaller than Tenerife but having beautiful beaches with white sand. The island has many unpopulated landscapes including the rippling sand dunes along the north east coast, making this an ideal visit if you are looking for peace and tranquillity. Situated on the northern tip is one of the most popular resorts of the island - CORRALEJO.

Corralejo is where it's at!! Once a small fishing village it has now become a lively colourful town with a large surplus of hotels and restaurants to choose from. Shops and bars lead right down through the Music Square and onto the harbour. A perfect location to have a glass of Sangria whilst overlooking the sea and marine activity with Mount Lobos in the distance. Across the other side of the town are a long stretch of rolling sand dunes and stunning unspoilt beaches which are in constant use by the wind and kite surfing enthusiasts.

The Fuerteventura region

Fuerteventura, second largest of the Canary Islands is not as well known, but now with Ryanair having 32 flights weekly, gets its good quota of visitors. It is more peaceful and relaxed, but also has a hectic nitelife for those who are energetic and young at heart… Ferry crossings daily to Lanzarote, but better bargains to be had locally. It has too many attractions to list, but the wildlife Nature Park (coaches there and back daily ( and your visit can be Split up, as it needs 2 days to really see it.) and magnificent gardens, so it is a real must of a treat. If you hire a car ( for around €20 a day ), El Cotillo ha some stunning sunsets and scenery as well as surfers galore. One of Corralejo's most stunning features are the natural Sand Dunes some 5 or 6 Kms long ( pure white sand that blew over from the Sahara desert, some million years ago ) that can be seen as you approach Corralejo.

Casa Bonita, meaning "beautiful house" is located in the lovely quiet residential Las Pergolas Group of Detached villas, having it’s own access and parking. Conveniently situated for all the main tourist attractions. Main bus route and the nearest shop is only a few hundred yards away. Also within walking distance is the all important English PUB serving reasonably priced food for that hungry thirsty feeling. A couple of hunred yards further is the newly built Campanario complex, that boasts a multitude of shops, Taxi rank , the Hiperdino Supermarket (great prices) and nightly entertainment centre. Further on for a lazy 15 minute stroll, brings you to Corralejo’s Main St, with a choice of some 20 – 30 restaurants (1st class meals from €7 + complimentary drink) ) and pubs and cafes overlooking the sea front. . A taxi back home is about €2.50. What more could one want, with the best of hotels giving great entertainment for the price of a beer. The nearest beach is within walking distance together with a little restaurant overlooking the sea and Mt Lobos. A perfect setting to sip a glass of cold Sangria.

"Just terrible!"

I wish I could say we had a fabulous time at this Villa, but unfortunately not. The Villa was “smelly and dirty” when we arrived late on Saturday night. We were unable to use the wardrobes and cup… More

Completely baffled at this review, especially after the lovely comments they left in our guestbook (which I can provide to anyone interested), so it was a complete bombshell when I was advised of these problems after the holiday and yes regrettably this guest came across a few things out of proper condition, that we have taken quick action and sorted, like the leaking dishwasher and extra lounger (don't know where it went!), these would have been sorted out straight away during the holiday if the guests had let me or my agents know, although these should not have been out of place anyway, it is one of the reasons we have agents on the island is the ability to deal with unforeseen issues promptly.

Although I hate to hear someone did not have a great time, with the mixed messages I'm unsure that this is the case and at the very least confident that this was not the fault of our Villa which we have the utmost pride in. I feel that comments about our pool are unfounded and upsetting and in my opinion which is backed up by my pool maintenance professional of 20 years that these are completely untrue, he reported that actually these guests had not even followed standard rules for using the pool, i.e. washing off excess sun lotion causing the pool to cloud slightly and required additional work to get back to our standard pristine quality, however this is just best practise and doesn't have any bearing on reported infections, more likely the children scratched insect bites with dirty fingers although I don't know and just speculating now, however if you see other comments, left only days before these guests were on holiday they are both 5/5 and give a very different perspective.

"Wonderful relaxing holiday" - The Villa was perfect…well used pool

"Best Sun Holiday we've ever had!!" - It was an amazing villa! Everything was perfect there…The villa and the pool were just spotless

We take into consideration any negative feedback and always act to resolve anything that is out of place as quickly as possible.
I hope that our future guests will come and stay and be equally as baffled when they see that we have a lot of pride in our home from home.

Kind regards

"Wonderful relaxing holiday"

Just returned from fuerteventura and stayed at casa bonita. The villa was just perfect, just far enough from the centre of town which we walked into every evening for dinner and shopping. The campanario centre was at hand for every day items and also snacks. We had a problem with the water pump breaking down but this was soon fixed by one of the agents. The pool was well used and l would certainly recommend this villa to friends and family

"Best Sun Holiday we've ever had!!"

We travelled to Fuerteventura in Sept 2012 and stayed in Casa Bonita for two weeks. It was an amazing villa! Everything was perfect there. We never wanted for anything. Between having loads of kitchen utensils to loads of dvds to watch and loads of music you would never want to leave the villa. The villa and the pool were just spotless. Eventhough there were 5 adults staying together we never once were in each others way because of all the space we had in the villa. It was such a quiet area to be staying in, so peaceful and safe yet only a few minutes walk to all the hustle and bustle of the town. Easy access to the corner shop and the beach only a stroll away. I couldnt rate this villa high enough. From the moment we booked with the owner on until we came home, any info we needed or any questions we had were all answered so promptly. We have already booked our stay for 2013 and we're all counting down the days to get over there!

"plenty of space for 3 couples"

The villa was very well equipped and plenty of space for 3 couples, it also has a very nice pool, and also a bbq, near to the shopping centre and if you go into the main hub at night it takes 15 minutes to walk in, and a taxi home is only 6 euros, plenty of places to eat we recomend the Temple near the music square we eat there every year its the best.El cottillo is also worth a visit, and the Art Gallery in villa verde, and El Horno Restaurant in villa verde, our daughter and partner went to the water park, and also hired the buggies and went on the tour , said it was great fun.

"very good property."

From the word go correspondence with the owners was first class. On arrival at the villa received a phone call from them asking if all was ok, and later on an apologie about the pool.
I can honestly say I have not stayed in a villa where we had everything was available. we were greeted with a welcome pack, containing water, milk, teas, and even a bottle of sangria, and Kath the house keeper even went out and bought us a bottle of cava at my request! The rooms were very comfortable with again everything we needed. We did have some problems with the pool but again it just took one phone call and there was someone there to sort it. The best sun beds ever!
I would say it is about 15mins walk from the centre. Further to walk into the old town, but a lovely strole along the front with all the lovely bars and restaurants
We ate at a few restaurants but our favourite was the El Moline where the best vegetarian lasagne, paella and spanish omlette were served (for me as a veggie) but also my friends were impressed with the meat dishes to
We did the island tour which we would recommend. This included a trip to the oldst church on the island, an aloe vera plantation where we given a lovely kneck massage, a stop at the old capital Betancuria, lunch , then on the way back a stop off at the sand dunes, well worth the money. A fantastic time for 4 people needing a break!

"Everything you could ask for in a holiday home"

Lovely house, really handy for all local amenities, wonderful beaches and night life. Frank and Carol gave us piles of useful information before we arrived and the house was easily to settle quickly into. Spacious home with 3 good sized bed rooms and a great dining / living area. Lots of room outside by the pool to enjoy the sun. We travelled with 2 teenage girls and a 1 year-old and had everything we needed - including space ! The resort is excellent - beautiful sandy beaches and loads to do. Would definitely stay here again. The house is has a real family feel and Frank and Carol could not have been more helpful.

"Relaxing holiday"

We really enjoyed our stay in Case Bonita. A spacious villa with a big garden with pool and BBQ where we were able to relax completely. A supermarket is near by and we walked to the center a coupe of times as well, although this is a bit futher. The kitchen is well equiped. The only draw back was the bed in the master bedroom, this is not very comfortable and makes a lot of noise. Other than that, we would recommend the villa to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday!

"Home from home"

I booked this villa at short notice and I cannot believe I got so lucky!! From the minute I contacted Frank I felt how much he loved Corralejo & his villa. On our arrival the 1st impression I got was a house that was clean, fresh and well looked after and that really set the tone for our stay. I can not think of any thing that we felt we needed that wasnt already there. The area where the villa is is nice and quiet but walking distance from a very nice shopping centre with supermarket, restaurants & other shops. It is also walking distance to a nice beach (or the bus stop to Flag Beach which we preferred but hire a sunbed there as it can be windy & the sand blows around a lot). The town is not far away but if you have small children & wanted to go to the port a taxi might be a better option. I could go on ( & on! ) about Corralejo and what we loved about it & how nice the people we met there were. I would really love to go back to Casa Bonita and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody.

"A great wee home from home!"

Very nice villa in a peaceful location, yet within easy walking distance of all the main attractions, even the water park! There were nices little touches, such as washing powder, dish washing liquid, hand soap in every bathroom, plenty of toilet roll - the things you usually have to buy on your first day! Also a lovely welcoming bottle of sangria. Plenty of books and dvds available for all ages. I would certainly recommend this villa to families or groups of friends.
