The Fuerteventura region
The semi-desert Island of Fuerteventura lies just under 100km off the coast of Africa (near the border of Morocco and Western Sahara). It enjoys a near-perfect climate with average monthly temperatures ranging from 17°C in January to 25°C in August.
Fuerteventura is the longest Island in the archipelago at 98km north to south and the second-largest Canary Island after Tenerife. The unforgiving barren and arid interior of the island shares much with it's African neighbours of Morroco and the Western Sahara including sparse rainfall, rocky-desert landscapes (the temperature of these rocks can reach 67°C on a hot day!) and simple flat-roofed white-washed villages.
Fuerteventura is perhaps most famous for it's beaches, with over 50km of stunning white and golden sand. Despite Tourism being a relatively recent phenomenon on the island, there is a well developed infrastructure with Golf Courses, a Zoo, a Water Park and numerous Marine Excursions. If you fancy something a bit more active, the Island offers great Surfing, Windsurfing and Kite Surfing as well as Big Game Fishing and Diving.
As resorts go in the Canary Islands, Corralejo to the north of Fuerteventura is one of the prettiest, especially around the harbour and just south at the beaches fronting the sublime sand dunes which form part of Corralejo Natural Park, a protected area. Although Corralejo is a bustling Fuerteventura holiday resort, the tourism here is not overwhelming and there's a chilled out vibe to this pretty resort. Corralejo's edge might be to do with the fact that it's not just a manmade resort - there's been a thriving fishing industry here for years, plus the pleasent harbour and old town bordering the harbour is a delightful area, crammed with arts and crafts stalls, specialist shops and friendly chic bars. With its own waterpark, the Atlantico Shopping centre (with disabled toilets) tidy promenade and stretch of beach along Avenida Grandes Playas, Corralejo combines good resort facilities with an attractive setting. A please all resort, with a nature park nearby, excellent surfing, diving and sailing and easy access to Lanzarote and Los Lobos Island via the harbour.
The Corralejo / Oasis Papagayo area
The Oasis Papagayo complex has a vaste area of 100.000m2, it is localed next to BAKU, from 800 m. to Corralejo beach and 2500 m. to natural park Las Dunas.
In its large gardens with native plants and flowers, immense pools, solarium areas and extras it has to offer here it its sure to make unforgettable holidays.

We just spent 2 very happy weeks here.
Villa is beautiful. Well secured and private. It was bright and clean upon arrival and Montse the owner was very helpful during our enquiries.
