Teapot Cottage is a beautifully furnished cottage built in the mid 1700's. It sits on the border of England and Scotland and is just 1.5 miles away from Coldstream- Scotland's first border town and just 15 miles from Berwick and the coast.
This cottage is located in a peaceful area with breathtaking views of open countryside - great for walkers, golfers and those of you seeking tranquility. The village boasts a post office and shop which sells almost all items you could require.

The Northern England / Yorkshire / Northumberland region
Northumberland’s coastline with miles of fantastic and sandy beaches are a 15 minute drive from the cottage, including Holy Island, whose historic sites can only be accessed when the tides permit! Northumberland has some of the cleanest beaches in England and every major beach has being passed by the environment agency for the cleanliness of its water.
Banburgh Castle is a fantastic sight to visit as is Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Gardens all are within easy reach of the cottage.
The historic walled town of Berwick On Tweed still has some of the remaining Victorian wall to the perimeter of the town and is a popular place for many holiday makers. Hadrians Wall is also easily accessible with well organised walks of varied intensity mapped out along the Cheviots.
For the Shopaholics’, The Metro centre is an hour’s drive away- a total contrast to the peace to be found elsewhere in the region!
Cornhill on Tweed area
Coldstream is three miles from the cottage and is Scotland's first border town. It provides all amenities such a late night CO-OP, grocer, chemist, pet store, vet practice, medical centre, Chinese take away, chip shop, five public houses and a variety of tea shops and eateries. It hosts a week of celebrations each August for its civic week.
The River Tweed is a five minute walk from the cottage and attracts fishing enthusiasts for its salmon fishing. Whatever the season the views within the area remain beautiful with red deer and barn owls spotted easily. Northumberland’s heritage coast is a mere thirty minute drive away with its castles and miles of beaches and wildlife. Numerous golf courses and outdoor activities are available nearby.
Other places to visit: - Nearby Kelso boasts Floors Castle with it's fantastic gardens, children's play area and garden centre. - Melrose Abbey with it's enchanting history and riverside walks is thirty minutes away. - Alnwick Castle famous for the filming of Harry Potter is a 40 minute drive away.
The Cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are approximately an hour’s drive from the cottage and each offer a wealth of things to see and do!
How to get there
This cottage destination is easily accessible from the M1- A1 if travelling from the South or North.
Edingurgh Airport is a 50 minute drive away with many low cost airlines flying into the airport throughout the day and the seasons. Easyjet airlines offer a very competitive flight and carhire service from many airports in the South of England.

This well equipped terraced and private cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished. It benefits from a large South facing conservatory and raised deck area which allows panoramic views of open countryside and the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
The cottage consists of kitchen, lounge, bathroom, bedroom with delux kingsize bed and a conservatory on the ground floor with a second level providing a bedroom with a double bed. Skylights in the upstairs room make it light and airy with fabulous views of the sky at night. All linen provided is luxury cotton with feather and down duvet and pillows.
Both the lounge and the bedroom on the ground floor have double french doors which open onto the conservatory, thus ensuring that you awaken to fantastic views. The conservatory in turn leads to the raised deck.
Following on from the deck, steps take you down to a garden which is fully enclosed and is divided into two terraced levels with connecting steps and flower beds.
The cottage is fully double glazed and heated with electric heaters and a living flame feature fire in the lounge.
The kitchen provides the full use of an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge with freezer drawer and washing machine, together with quality crockery and cutlery.
Further details outdoors: The village provides a safe and secure parking area which allows you to park in view of the cottage.
There is a small children's play area in the centre of the village which provides a fenced area of swings and a slide for young children.

- The cottage is available to rent from Saturday to Saturday with your booking beginning at 4pm and departure required at 10am. - Short term rental and weekend breaks are available subject to committed bookings. - Please e-mail for availability details or contact Lisa on 07896 287482. - At the time of booking a 25% deposit is required with the remaining balance due four weeks before your expected rental start date.
