Home description

This 18th century typical village house is located in the northern Lot area of France. The house is furnished to a very high standard and is available throughout the year as it benefits from central heating and double glazing. There are three bedroom, two bathrooms with separate toilets. The master bedroom has an en suite shower cubicle. The kitchen is fully equipped. The lounge has the benefit of satellite TV, DVD/video and hi-fi system. there is a small balcony to the rear of the house, overlooking the garden area.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Lot region

The village of Cornac is ideally located for exploring this exceptional Quercy area of France including the towns of Limoge and Brive to the north and Rocamadour, Figeac and Cahors to the south. Close at hand are the small towns of St. Cere and the medieval town of Beaulieu located on the Dordogne river. Some of the most beautiful villages of France are within easy reach., Autoire, Martel, Collonges la Rouge. The weather throughout the year is mild but particularly hot and sunny in the summer months. There is every opportunity to take advantage of cycling, walking and canoeing in the area.


Cornac / Beaulieu sur Dordogne area

Beaulieu sur Dordogne benefits from a strawberry festival in May and there are regular markets in the towns of Beaulieu, Bretenoux and St. Cere selling local produce. The area is known for its vineyards from Cahors in the South West, to locally produced wines in the adjoining village of Gland. There are numerous chateau in the area, most of which are open to the public. There is a 9 hole golf course within 10 km of the village which welcoms visitors throughout the year. There is a water park on the banks of the Dordogne, approximately 15 km way from the village. The local towns benefit from supermarkets, bakeries and butchers.

The house is located over three levels with the base level being the cave. The kitchen, lounge and master bedroom are located at first floor level with two further bedrooms located at second floor level. The fully equipped, modern kitchen over looks the dining area and lounge which has typical exposed beams and stone walls decorated to a very high standard with large inglenook fireplace. A separate bathroom and toilet are also located at this level. A modern wooden staircase leads up to the second level where the twin and double bedrooms are located along with a further bathroom and separate toilet.

Further details outdoors:
Stone steps at the rear of the house lead down from the balcony to a quiet county lane, from where access to the garden (approx 20 meters) can be made. Outside facilities include a full patio set complete with parasol and BBQ.
