The Ionian Islands region

Visitors of Corfu Island in Greece will not know what to admire first: the natural beauties of the island, the picturesque city and small villages or the wide variety of the magnificent bays and beaches that gather thousands of tourists every year.

In Corfu you have a lot to see and experience. Several museums and Byzantine churches, archaeological monuments and Venetian fortresses, impressive landscapes, a superb inland that offers itself for strolls on traditional paths, excellent views from the mountain of Pantokratoras to the islands of Erikousa, Othoni and Mathraki, the Albanian cost, Paxoi and Antipaxoi islands.

As for entertainment there are plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs to satisfy all tastes!

Corfu Town is one of the most beautiful cities of Greece, attracting people from all over the world. The visitor that will wander around the city will discover the magnificent mixture of the Venetian, French and British influences with the Greek tradition.

In the city of Corfu prevail the two Venetian fortresses that used to protect the residents with their powerful fortifications. Between the two fortresses extends the Old City recalling past ages, offering the opportunity for romantic strolls in enchanting surroundings. From the top of the fortresses one may enjoy the amazing view of the old town.?

The large and beautiful Spianada square is the main focal point of the new city. There, at the Liston, the work of the French engineer Lesseps, visitors can have a cup of coffee or taste some traditional ginger beer underneath the shadow of trees. At the eastern side of Spianada is the Palace of St. Michael and St. George, the residence of the Commissioners during the occupation by the British, a building housing today the Museum of Asian Art.

Visitors may also visit the Archaeological and Byzantine Museum and admire the numerous samples of Corfiot architecture, the Folklore Museum, the Museum of Kapodistria, the Museum of Solomos and many more historical buildings.

Another main attraction of the Town is the numerous old churches, with most important the very impressive church of Agios Spyridon, who is the patron saint Corfu island. ?

Visitors may take a long walk to the famous narrow streets of the city, named cantounia and after the tour taste the local cuisine in one of the many picturesque little taverns of the city. At night this lively city offers numerous choices of entertainment with its famous bars and clubs.

Corfu is a vivid charming city that captivates the senses of visitors, who travel back to the island again to discover even more beauties!

"Excellent location"

Clean and compact apartment in heart of Old Town. Helpful and friendly owner. Air conditioning, hair dryer and towels all provided. In a pedestrian area with many tavernas, coffee bars , bakeries etc. lovely atmosphere. I hired a scooter to get around the island and had no problem parking in the main square near the taxi ranks, although a car may have proved more difficult. No hesitation in recommending this apartment and area - superb

"Ideal studio apartment in heart of Corfu Old Town"

Charming studio apartment in the heart of the World Heritage Site of Corfu's Old Town. An excellent hub for touring Corfu town and the north of the island, being a 10minute walk to the KTEL Green Bus Station, or a couple of minutes to parking. The pedestrianised Old Town is bustling all day with countless restaurants and shops from tourist nick-nacks to fashionable boutiques, as well as marinas and cruise ships a little further away.

No end of historical sites either, from the Venetian fortifications of the Old & New Fortresses modified during British occupation, to the moving British/Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, or the Serbian Museum.

Lovely property with a very helpful owner who is more than happy to help out in the months/weeks leading up to your stay.
