Corfu / Kalami area
Kalami is without doubt one of the most picturesque bays on the island of Corfu. It is famous for once having been the home of the writer Lawrence Durrell at the White House on the beach front which is now a taverna. Surrounded by olive groves and cypress trees this small coastal village offers both tranquillity and lively local entertainment in an unspoilt, typically Greek location
Having such an enviable location Stratigos courtyard opens out directly onto the pretty pebble beach, with its crystal clear waters perfect for snorkelling; sunbeds are for hire and watersports available or you can wander to one of the excellent tavernas for a spot of lunch.
Kalami has everything you will need traditional tavernas, 2 cocktail bars providing evening entertainment, pool bars for refreshments, snacks and drinks during the day and night, supermarkets, gift shops and tourist offices. In the evenings aside from entertainment to be found in the village, from the small jetty right outside the property boats come in each evening to take you (free of charge) to the neighbouring bay of Agni where there are a further three tavernas to choose from.
There are other fabulous waterside tavernas nearby in the picture postcard bays of Koloura and San Stephanos, Krouzeri and Kerrasia. Should you wish to venture a little further Kassiopi is only 10 minutes drive/sail away and has many shops, restaurants, bars/clubs, beaches, and a pretty harbour area if you feel the need for something a bit livelier.
There are 2 Aquaparks within easy reach, a golf course just outside Corfu Town, horseriding is available with Dimitri from the nearby taverna and scuba diving plus windsurfing is available in Kassiopi.
There are many things to do in Corfu but for sight seeing Corfu Town is not to be missed. It is a wonderful place to visit having plenty to see and do with its Italianate arcades, Venetian fortress and cobbled alleys. It boasts everything from international boutiques to traditional craft shops that line the streets and stay open late into the evening. Aside from shopping you can watch an afternoon of cricket sipping coffee from below the arches of the Liston Arcade or stroll around the square and admire the medieval churches and forts. That is not to mention the Corfu Trail (see www.corfutrail.org) for those who love walking and many other attractions on the island.
How to get there
Flights can be obtained from most UK airports between May and October. When searching for flights the name of the airport is Corfu (it is located in Corfu Town and is sometimes listed as Kerkyra), the main flying days from the UK are either Monday or Friday. There are a couple of flights that leave on Tuesdays or alternatively it is possible to reach the island via Athens, however most of our properties have their changeover day as Monday or Friday accordingly.
During the Winter Season (November to April) at present there are no direct flights to the island therefore you would have to fly via Athens. You can also travel to Corfu by ferryboat from both Athens and Italian ports such as Venice and Brindisi throughout the year.

Further details indoors: There are 2 two bedroom apts sleeping 2 to 5 people available and 3 one bedroom apts that sleep 2 to 3 people.
Each of the apartments have a balcony/terrace areas where you can enjoy the views across olive groves sprinkled with cypress trees to the rear; or the sparkling blue waters of Kalami bay with panoramic views over to the Albanian mountains to the front. They have a kitchenette with 2 ring electric hob/grill/mini oven, toaster, kettle, fridge, and a microwave, they have a separate shower room and they are also equipped with an iron and board and casablanca ceiling fans. They have two single beds in the bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living areas; Apt 5 is the favourite of most clients as it also has the larger private balcony that can be seen at the front of the property on the upper floor.

Note: Refurbishment works are planned for the winter months and freestanding air conditioning units will be available for a small hire charge if required during the 2009 Season.
Further details outdoors: To the front of the apartments aside from the beach is a pretty courtyard area overlooking the sea with seating / dining furniture and a barbeque with direct access to the beach..

The preferred changoever day for the apartments is Monday, Tuesday and Friday. The prices supplied are per apartment per week and include a cleaning and linen service together with a basic welcome pack containing the necessary essentials upon arrival. We can also provide and infant pack including cot, stair gates, high chair, push chair and steriliser or a more substantial welcome pack at a small additional charge please enquire for further details.
Free standing air conditioning units are available for hire and we can also accept credit card and Euro payments upon request.

BOOKING PROCEDURE To make a booking you first need to check availability with Charlotte our UK representative either by phone or email. 1. When we receive your enquiry upon request we will reserve your required dates and hold them for five days giving you chance to obtain your flights and forward your deposit. 2. Should you wish to proceed with your booking you will need to complete a booking form and send this together with payment of a 25% deposit. 3. Once we receive your completed booking form and deposit we will send you a written letter of confirmation. 4. Finally the balance of your holiday is due 8 weeks prior to departure. Upon receipt of your final balance we will forward an information pack containing further details i.e. directions and contacts on the island etc.. Final payment must be made in order for you to secure your booking, we will send you a reminder 2 weeks prior to the due date.
