About the home

Wisteria Villa, agios gergios, Corfu is a modern self catering villa within a 5 minute walk from the fabulous sandy beaches of St George. You’ll find that you’re conveniently close to cafes, restaurants, shops and cash points. Wisteria offers a complete 'home from home' experience, outside you will find a patio where you can watch the sun go down, 2 verandas leading off the bedrooms and a garden area with mountain views. Pool facilities are available 100m away and you’ll find that you’re ideally situated for sightseeing and exploring the island.

The resort of St. George offers plenty to do including water sports from parasailing to jet-skiing to windsurfing and boat hire. There is also an endless supply of day trips, boat trips and excursions available from the travel agents around the resort. St George is a laid back resort, suitable for couples and families of all ages, however a more energetic night life is only a 20 minute taxi ride away.

The spacious open plan kitchen area provides an excellent self catering facility with contemporary fitted wall and floor units. You’ll find all you need and more to rustle up some culinary delights.

Living Area
The open plan living area leads on from the kitchen and out through double doors onto the veranda and patio at the rear of the villa. The living area consists of a comfy L shaped sofa which converts into a double bed, flat screen TV and Playstation with a selection of games. The Playstation can also be used to play DVD’s. The TV is set up to view various free view channels including children’s programmes and music channels. As well as a CD player we also have an Ipod lead for you to play your favourite music though the TV. You will also find a selection of Playstation games; DVD’s, books and family games. The dining area provides comfortable seating for six and if you have young children we also have a high chair.

King Bedroom
The King bedroom has a king size bed, dressing table with powerful hair dryer and full length mirror. Fitted wardrobes provide you with plenty of space to unpack and make yourself at home; they also contain the safety deposit box. If you have young children a travel cot with bedding can be provided. Double doors lead onto a tiled veranda and into the garden at the rear of the villa.

Twin Bedroom
The twin bedroom has 2 chunky pine/wooden single beds, a powerful hair dryer and mirror with shelf. Fitted wardrobes provide you with plenty of space to unpack and make yourself at home. Double doors lead onto a tiled veranda at the front of the villa where you can enjoy a morning coffee.

Bathroom
The tiled family bathroom contains a washing machine, bath with shower and marble top sink unit.

The villa has two verandas leading off both bedrooms one at the front and one at the rear. The rear veranda also leads on from the living area onto the patio where you will find wooden garden furniture seating six, a large gas BBQ and breakfast bar. The patio leads onto the lawn and boosts fabulous views of the mountains, you can spend your time here relaxing on the sun beds or watching the sunset with a glass of wine in the evening.

What is provided for you?
On arrival you will receive a welcome basket. If you would like to make your stay extra special we can arrange a bottle of champagne for you. (Please ask for details, there will be a small charge)

English representative on hand to answer any questions and to recommend places to eat, drink and visit.

Fresh linen and towels on arrival and a spare set of sheets left in the villa at all times. During a week stay your villa will be cleaned and fresh linen provided mid week. However if you have any different requirements we will be happy to help.

Beach towels are provided.

Conditions

Refundable security deposit of £150 required, this will be refunded once the villa has been checked after your departure.

A deposit 25% of the rental amount is required on booking. The booking cannot be confirmed until this deposit has been received. The balance of the amount must be paid 8 weeks before the commencement of the holiday.

The villa must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure or another night will be charged.

No smoking villa, smoking is permitted outside. No Pets.

The Ionian Islands region

The Ionian Islands take their name from the sea which lies between the tip of Italy and the west coast of Greece. The Ionians in turn took their name from Ion, after the nymph goddess of the sea. These islands are also known as the Eptanisos - The Seven Islands - of which Corfu is the second largest with a length of 40 miles and a width varying between two and a half and eighteen miles. The North East Cape, where you will find the resort town of Kassiopi, is one and a half miles from the Albanian coast. The shape of the island resembles a scythe with a surface area of 588 square miles.

St George (Agios Georgios) is situated on the south side of the island and offers around six miles of golden sandy beaches which have been awarded with the blue flag. The northern end of the long sands is known as Issos beach, where you will find sand dunes and a saltwater lagoon, Lake Korrision. To the south are the long sands of the Golden Beach which merges with a string of sandy stretches known as Maltas, Marathias and Santa Barbara. The beaches are wide, have easy-on-the-feet sand and are safely shallow for children with a wide variety of water sports available. The resort is flanked by beautiful olive groves and cypress trees, which offer beautiful scenic nature trails. The main stretch of St George runs parallel to the beach and is where you will find all of the traditional tavernas, cafe’s, bars and shops.

A walk up to Argirades village will reward with astonishing views, lovely cafes and a taste of traditional village life. There are two routes up to the village. Firstly, (if going by car), take the main road out of St George (signed Argirades 4Km). An alternative, on foot, is to take the road at the southern end of the resort just before the Kafesass fish restaurant (signed Argirades 3km) follow the road up past some of the quieter apartments and onto a track through the olive groves.

Lake Korriosn is a nature reserve and home to turtles, lizards and migrating birds. Wide, soft sands appear to run for miles with the lake and sea separated by a narrow strip of dunes and a rough road. The Korrison lake was created by the Venetians who flooded the marshy plain behind by dredging a route to the sea at the northern tip.

There is an endless supply of excursions and boat trips available from the resort, you will find all the details in the travel agents around the resort. St George is perfect for families; young people as well as senior citizens, who enjoy a relaxing holiday experiencing a real taste of the Greek life. St George offers everything and will definitely not disappoint you.

This is our second visit to Wisteria and we loved it even more than the first time! Made great friends with Alex at the Pizza Restaurant and visited Notos beach which is absolutely beautiful and perfect for little ones as the water is so shallow. Our favourite restaurants are Oceanas, Malibu and Leonidas in Petriti. We are defiantly coming back next year especially as we have decided to get married here!
