About the home

Camellia is located at the end of a paved walkway. The last villa in the rank, it boasts a peaceful location set away from the road, a lovely spot to spend your week or two relaxing in the sun. Newly completed in September 2007, it is just five minutes walk from the beaches and the centre of St George. The villa comes with great countryside views and its own private swimming pool. The villa is air condtioned and has mosquito blinds fitted to all windows with the exception of the kitchen and bathroom. The villa has tiled floors throughout, lime-washed wooden ceilings complete the light and airy feeling within. Each bedroom has its own patio area..french doors lead you to your own quiet spot furnished with a table and chairs, a great way to start your day and enjoy that early morning coffee before heading for a lazy day of sunbathing at either one of the two golden sandy beaches. If exploring is more your thing the villa has its own parking space great for the hire car.

From the moment you arrive on the beautiful island of Corfu, our aim is to make your holiday one of total relaxation. We can arrange a private airport transfer directly to Camellia a great way to avoid those airport queues. On your arrival you will find a welcome basket with items to get you started, that essential tea, coffee and breakfast items. The villa contains everything you need for your stay and we also provide a full baby & toddler pack for young families at no extra charge. This pack contains over 30 items, so please ask for a full list. A quick change out of those good old blighty clothes and you can be lazing on the beach within a few minutes or taking a dip in the cool pool located just outside your front door.

Facilities

Camellia has a modern light and airy feeling and has been fully furnished to a high standard.
Our front door leads you into the kitchen area, complete with oven, hob and extractor. We have supplied two fridges, one for your food items and one for those important cold drinks. The kitchen also has a dishwasher which comes complete with your dishwasher tablets for the length of your stay. We have provided all your basic items along with a microwave, toasted sandwich maker, iron and board. As part of our baby pack the kitchen area contains a sterilizer, blender for baby purees, plastic plates, bowls, cups and cutlery. Your welcome basket will provide, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, fresh bread, butter, jam, a bottle of water and a couple of toilet rolls. We also provide a packet of swim nappies for families travelling with young children. We have also supplied a cool box and ice packets along with a picnic set.

The open plan living and dining area is furnished with a huge L-shaped sofa which converts to a sofa bed should you require it, this will sleep two adults. We have provided a Flatscreen TV, Sky TV with freeview channels, DVD player, CD Player and a X-Box games system. There is also a i-pod docking station. Our living area seats six and we have dining seating also for six. We have also provided a baby high chair for use, along with play/activity mat and rocker seat for small babies. In our corner area we have a children's toy chest, this is full of toys, games, books, colouring pencils and pads. A selection of games and books for adults is also provided. All of our selection of DVDs, CDs, games and books range from the very young through to adult age. Leading from our lounge/dining area we have french doors leading to a patio area which gives great countryside views and is furnished with table and chairs and a gas BBQ.

Our main bedroom has a double bed and plenty of storage, a set of french doors lead to a patio area and your bedroom window provides you with great country views. Each bedroom comes complete with a hairdryer, and we have provided a set of ceramic hair straightners.
Our second bedroom is our twin room, again with french doors leading to your own patio area. We can supply bed sides for toddlers along with waterproof sheets. The second bedroom also has a cot. It is a proper cot and not a travel cot, it comes complete with a cot-top changer and all linen inculding a cot-bumper. We have supplied baby monitors, a mosquito net for the cot and a summer weight Grobag, we also provide two Babymoov Anti-Mosquito LED night lights.

Our bathroom has a bath complete with overhead shower and fitted screen. Hidden behind the bathroom door is your washing machine. The bathroom comes complete with both bath towels and beach towels. As part of our baby pack we have provided a thermometer, a baby bath seat, a potty and padded small toilet seat.

On your arrival the villa will have fresh linen and towels, there is also a spare set of sheets left in the villa at all times. Depending on the size of your party and the length of your stay, the villa will be cleaned and fresh linen and towels provided in accordance with your requirements.

As part of our baby pack we can arrange for all of your baby items to be waiting for you on your arrival. Nappies, food and milk can be provided and we are able to offer a range of UK branded products from SMA, Cow & Gate, Aptamil and Hipp Organic Products. There is obviously a charge depending on the items you require but please enquire should you require this service.

We also supply car seats for your use during your stay, we have Maxi-Cosi stage one and two seats and a booster seat. We also use these seats for our own private transfers from/to the airport.

Further details outdoors:
Our swimming pool is kidney shaped and is approx 8m x 5m. We have supplied sun-loungers, hammocks and outdoor pod style chairs to enable you to relax while soaking up the sunshine. We also have an outside shower. Your beach/pool towels are provided.The villa has a private garden with BBQ area.Our private garden is totally secure with its own lockable gate and is therefore safe for young children, within the garden area we have supplied a children's play area complete with slide, small climbing frame, rocker and sand pit. We have also supplied a swingball set complete with soccer ball, netball and a net for badminton. Our children's play area is fenced off from the swimming pool. This will enable you to feel safe in the knowledge that whilst your children are playing they have no access to the pool itself. For use either in the garden or at the beach we have provided a 'sun tent' suitable for toddlers and babies which gives shelter from the sun with a SPF of 50+.
We have provided a chest full of pool toys along with safety swimming aids that range from baby to 6+. There is also a big supply of buckets and spades which can be used at the beach or in the sand pit.

Further details

After your enquiry is received and you confirm that you wish to book with us, your booking will be noted but not confirmed until your 25% deposit is received. when your deposit is received at this point only will your days be marked as 'booked' on our calendar, you will then be issued with a confirmation letter.
Your final balance is due 6 weeks prior to your arrival, we will send you a reminder a few weeks before. Once your second stage booking is received we will issue you with details of your contact during your stay, and directions to the villa, if you do not require an airport transfer
Our representative will be your contact for your stay. He lives approx 15 minutes from the villa. He is english born but now lives on the island. Great for local knowledge and advice.

Conditions

A standard £150.00 security/breakage bond is charged, irrespective of length of stay or number of guests. This bond is to be paid in a separate amount with your second stage booking. We will hold this until the villa has been checked after your departure.
No smoking villa. Smoking permitted outside.
Please ensure that you obtain travel insurance.

The Ionian Islands region

The six Ionian islands down the west coast of the mainland, float on the haze of the Ionian sea. Dangling between the heel of Italy and the west coast of mainland Greece, Corfu is green and mountainous. Much of the island still consists of olive groves, mountain or woodland. Even in developed resorts unspoiled terrain is often just a few minutes walk away. Temperatures range from 25c in May through to 33c in August.

The Corfu / Agios Georgios South area

Corfu is one of the most elegant island capitals in the whole of Greece. Corfu town is a must visit, the town has two distinct areas, the historic centre, enclosed by the old port and the old fort area. Both have great spots to enjoy lunch and coffee after a mornings sightseeing. St George South is approx 32km from Corfu town, if you want to say put for your stay, St George offers everything you could wish for, it has a lovely sandy 12km beach, and offers you a choice of spots each day to enjoy the sun, sand and sea. The beautiful blue sea has a shallow water's edge so great for little ones. The beach offers a range of watersports and the tavernas located directly on the beach offer you great lunches and even a free sunbed. Boat trips are available from the harbour area should you wish to experience the many coves and various beaches around the island itself. Both coach trips and the local bus service operate from St George and offer various routes across and around the island , offering a cheaper way to get out and about should you not wish to hire a car. All of the tavernas within St George, of which there are many, offer great local food and lots of fresh fish. St George offers a relaxing holiday best suited for couples and families. There are no nightclubs in St George, but for those wanting a night at the discos, Kavos is a twenty minute taxi ride away.
Lake Korission is a great local attraction, it is home to turtles, tortoises, lizards, numerous indigenous and migratory birds. There are lots of walks around different trails, the lake is over 5km long and 1km wide. A different kind of water is available at Aqualand, europe's 3rd largest water park, a great day out and coach trips run from st George. Golf is available at Corfu Golf Club, approx 45mins away. The course was designed by Donald Harradine and is great for both scratch players and for those with long handicap. St George is great for cycling as its one of the very few area's of Corfu that is fairly flat.

“A wonderful family holiday villa, a home from home with better weather!” The villa is perfectly situated a few minutes work from the beach and shops and bars. Kerrie and Paul have thought of everything that you need to keep travelling luggage to a minimum and holiday relaxation to the maximum. Our 2 year old son was in his element too with endless indoor and outdoor toys and books. Kerrie was great with information prior to going and then Keith was great whilst we were at the villa. It was all so good we booked immediately when we returned and I'm sure that visit will not be our last. We never go back to the same place twice but this place was so perfect its broken our rule - an easy holiday with a 2 year old, is definitely a reason for broken rules!!

“Lovely villa - great for kids.” We have just returned from a lovely 2 week stay at Villa Camellia. The villa is perfect for kids as there are loads of toys/dvds and my girls loved feeding the tortoises! The beach takes a good 15 minutes to walk with small children so it was a bit far for us to walk every day but we enjoyed the pool anyway. The villa is well equipped and it was handy to have Keith around almost every day incase we needed anything. There are also numerous tavernas/mini-markets within easy walking distance.

“Fantastic, Home from Home Villa in great location.” This was our 3rd stay at the Villa we were there 10 days 27th May to 6th June 2011. Weather was fantasic. The villa is a great place stay with everything you need at hand we are a family of 3 aged 46, 41 and 7 and this time we took my mum who is 62. Plenty of things for children at the villa, toys, sandpit, small outdoor play area with outdoor toys, DVD's, Books, XBox with games and of course it's own private pool. The villa is set in a fantastic location a short walk to shops/restaurants/bars so no need for a car although we do pick up a car at the airport as we like to travel round the island which is gorgeous. Keith who looks after the villa is very friendly and extremly helpful. We will definetly be going back to the villa as it is such a relaxing holiday in the perfect location. Nicola, Andrew & Harry
