Home description
Set amongst olive groves, this well appointed semi-detached Villa enjoys an ideal location in the village of Liondari halfway down the small country road leading to Agios Stephanos, Avlaki and Kerasia Bay, great for those who want to enjoy the unique atmosphere of this charming fishing village but also wish to explore the rest of the beautiful north-east Corfu with ease.
Formerly named Mistral Villas and cottage, the owners decided to change the layout of the properties and Affordable-corfu.com has great pleasure in sharing newly named ‘Villa Maistro’ with you. This villa is set in a slightly staggered position to the previous accommodation (being the end terrace property) but with the addition of a dividing wall, private car parking space and recently built swimming pool with a separate small shallow area for young children, it offers even more seclusion than in previous years!
The pool (6m x 4m) is surrounded by a lovely stone flagged terrace bordered by colourful flowers and shrubs and is amply equipped with sun-loungers, sun umbrella and outdoor table with chairs for el-fresco dining. The views from the pool terrace are stunning across the Corfu channel, as the eye is constantly drawn to the graceful vista of the mountains of southern Albania, and to the sapphire expanse of sea that lies before it. The friendly owners certainly love their flowers and are happy to potter around tending the plants during the hot summer evenings.

The Ionian Islands region
Corfu is the second largest, greenest Ionian island, and also the best known. In Greek, the island's name is Kerkyra (Ker-kih-rah). It was Homer's 'beautiful and rich land', and Odysseus' last stop on his journey home to Ithaca. Shakespeare reputedly used it as a background for the 'The Tempest'. In the 20th Century, the Durrell brothers, amongst others, extolled its virtues.
Corfu Town is well worth a visit with all the style and sophistication of any cosmopolitan centre yet steeped in historical character and age old traditions.
Corfu / Agios Stephanos area
With its beguiling landscape of wildflowers and cypress trees rising out of shimmering olive groves, Corfu is considered by many as Greece's most beautiful island. Rocky coves, stunning sunsets and golden sandy beaches captivate everyone that visits this Ionian jewel also known as the Emerald Island. Corfu has managed to maintain its distinct Mediterranean feel with miles of coastline for visitors to enjoy their holiday. Secret coves, deserted beaches and lively bars and discos ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy from their holiday. Agios Stephanos is a pretty little harbour with lots of water’ activities in its horseshoe shaped bay, sea front tavernas and something of interest for visitors of all ages. It lies against a backdrop of dramatic rugged hills and looks across the sea to Albania. With its two mini-markets, an exchange office, two sophisticated cocktail bars, two boat hire agents and gift shops all to be found on the harbour front of this picturesque traditional Greek fishing village, relatively unchanged for the last 20 years when tourism first hit the island of Corfu. Reached by a narrow winding lane this picturesque inlet half hidden by trees has remained totally unspoilt, though it is only a few kilometers from the popular resort of Kassiopi. The immediate area of the village is a tranquil haven with individual rental properties dotted amongst pinewoods and olive groves, leading down to a series of quiet beaches. At one end of the bay of Kerasia is a solitary taverna, set by the waters edge and by the small jetty where caiques bring temporary visitors for lunch or drinks. By evening the only boat left is the odd yacht spending the night at anchor and peace descends on Kerasia, a true ‘away-from-it-all’ retreat and a lovely place in which to enjoy the fresh fish and home-made food served in the taverna. Kerasia Beach is a shingle beach, with board walks to make it easier to get from your sun bed to the taverna for drinks, ice creams etc. There are also sun umbrellas as well as sun beds to hire for a small daily charge and showers, toilets and changing areas available. Kerasia beach is child friendly, it is flat and the water is quite shallow for a little way out, and then deepens quickly so caution is always recommended. The beach shop sells anything from towels and sun creams, to swim wear and books!
