Home description
The countryside around Avlaki and Coyevinas is amongst the loveliest in all of Corfu, with uncrowded beaches backed by lush valleys and rolling hills that lead up to a backdrop of majestic mountains. Right here, set in substantial gardens amidst a fertile valley, you will find these exquisite apartments, built by Nancy’s husband George, who’s family is one of the largest in this area.
With such an attractive setting, it is quite conceivable that guests might choose to while away their entire holiday here, however, one of the things that makes these apartments so desirable is that they are also extremely convenient for the beach; Avlaki beach, with its two tavernas and watersports facilities is approximately a twelve minute walk away whilst Coyevinas Beach is a mere six minute walk away. They are also situated not far from a couple of local supermarkets and tavernas offering speciality dishes, and evening entertainment. Nancy apartments consist of four apartments sharing a swimming pool. Two apartments sleep 4-6 people and the other two smaller ones sleep 2-4 people. All have similar decor inside and include the use of air conditioning in the price!

The Ionian Islands region
Corfu is the second largest, greenest Ionian island, and also the best known. In Greek, the island's name is Kerkyra (Ker-kih-rah). It was Homer's 'beautiful and rich land', and Odysseus' last stop on his journey home to Ithaca. Shakespeare reputedly used it as a background for the 'The Tempest'. In the 20th Century, the Durrell brothers, amongst others, extolled its virtues.
With its beguiling landscape of wildflowers and cypress trees rising out of shimmering olive groves, Corfu is considered by many as Greece's most beautiful island. Rocky coves, stunning sunsets and golden sandy beaches captivate everyone that visits this Ionian jewel also known as the Emerald Island. Corfu has managed to maintain its distinct Mediterranean feel with miles of coastline for visitors to enjoy their holiday. Secret coves, deserted beaches and lively bars and discos ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy from their holiday.
Corfu / Avlaki area
Avlaki has a small windsurfing and sailing school owned and run by Yan, and so is a good choice for watersports enthusiasts, as well as those who enjoy an unspoilt, attractive beach. Yan offers personal service with experienced staff and his aim is for you to return home with a sense of achievement and wanting to return again and again to Avlaki. He offers various courses from introductory sailing, three day programme on windsurfing, to end of week regatta and social events. His style of instruction is friendly and relaxed and you can do as little or as much as you please, without the pressure of formal courses. For boat hire, canoe and pedaloes on Avlaki Beach Dimitris is your agent, you will find him 50m along the beach from the Bella Mare Hptel. He has 15hp, 25hp and 30hp tiller and steering boats available. We strongly suggest that due to great demand you book your boat in advance, especially for the main holiday season to avoid disappointment when you are here! Close to the Bella Mare Hotel are two tavernas, sitting side by side, on the wonderful beach front location, offering excellent al fresco dining and beautiful views to complement your meal. Also available on Avlaki Beach is Horse Riding, customized for people of any age and level. It combines a little guided tour around the peninsular, which is of outstanding beauty.

Kassiopi, a mere 2 minutes drive from Avlaki, is the largest town in the north, and a thriving harbour town catering for all tastes. A place that combines mountain with sea, green with blue, new with old, tranquility with liveliness, the locals that make you feel welcome and important to them, it fulfils the needs of all ages with many choices for day or night. Kassiopi is situated on the north east coast of Corfu at 36 kilometers from Corfu Town and is surrounded by lush green slopes of olive trees and charming little bays. It’s picturesque amphitheatre shaped port, it’s well preserved church, it’s cosmopolitan finesse, it’s deep blue and hospitable shores, the sight of the huge Byzantine fortress that looms over the village as well as the varied and affordable choices of bars and restaurants will enchant it’s visitors. The main harbour is full of local fishermen by day, but comes alive at night with the many bars and tavernas which line the waterfront. It’s easy to reach every Kassiopi beach, all of which are clean and safe. You will find EU blue flags here and at nearby Kalamionas beach. Children in Kassiopi will enjoy the flat main beach which is safely away from traffic. Other Kassiopi beaches and secluded coves with fewer facilities are found around the beautiful headland. Most of Kassiopi beaches are pebbly but there are plenty of them and they can be charmingly small and secluded. Kerasia Beach is a shingle beach, with board walks to make it easier to get from your sun bed to the taverna for drinks, ice creams etc. There are also sun umbrellas as well as sun beds to hire for a small daily charge and showers, toilets and changing areas available. Kerasia beach is child friendly, it is flat and the water is quite shallow for a little way out, and then deepens quickly so caution is always recommended. The beach shop sells anything from towels and sun creams, to swim wear and books! At one end of the bay is a solitary taverna, set by the waters edge and by the small jetty where caiques bring temporary visitors for lunch or drinks. By evening the only boat left is the odd yacht spending the night at anchor and peace descends on Kerasia, a true ‘away-from-it-all’ retreat and a lovely place in which to enjoy the fresh fish and home-made food served in the taverna.
