The beautiful Corfu Club course has been designed by the famous Swiss based architect, Donald Harradine and he has blended the natural resources of the lovely Ropa Valley with man-made hazards to make the course a good but fair test. It is as enjoyable for the scratch player as it is for the long handicap one.
A magical place full of animals and birds (kingfishers, herons, otters, fish). The course has been recently renovated, with major work carried out on the bunkers and an upgrade to the irrigation system, therefore keeping the course in perfect condition at all times.
From March to November and sometimes beyond, there is warm sunshine and blue skies in Corfu but even in high summer on the golf course there is almost always a cooling breeze blowing in from the sea. Golf is also played throughout the winter in Corfu, so anytime is golf time! There are three sets of tees thus providing enjoyment for all categories of players.
The turf is very good and easy to walk on and every hole on the course provides infinite variety - and its own problems. Corfu is a great golf course and its fame is spreading rapidly as golfers come from all over the world to test their skill at golf and to enjoy an island which offers spectacular scenery, fine hotels, good food and a warm welcome.
The course is open 7 days a week.
- A POWER PLATE My5 is available free of charge for your gym !!!
If you don't know how to use it a gym teacher can show you at your charge.
- If you wish you can have a GUIDED TOUR in the old town of Corfu in French or in English free of charge !!!
The Ionian Islands region
The island of Corfu is located just off the West coast of Greece. It is the greenest of the Ionian Islands, and probably also the well known. The island enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate and offers a beguiling landscape of wild flowers, cypress trees, local vegitation and over 2 million olive trees.
Corfu is surrounded by a beautiful and varied coastline. It has the precise balance of long sandy beaches, pebble beaches, secluded shingle coves, some of which can only be reached by boat, and high cliffs which are the perfect resting point to take in some of the spectacular sunsets.
The island’s old town, built largely by the Venetians during their rule in the 15th Century, with its stunning architecture is an attraction in itself. With it’s esplanades and piazzas, it is a cosmopolitan place enjoyed by young and old alike.
In 2007 Corfu’s old town was inscribed in UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
The small fishing villages and beach-side tavernas offer a fine selection of traditional greek cuisine to suit all tastes.
The island has something to offer to everybody from museums and monuments to night clubs, restaurants and walking/hiking trails.
Stone Rose Villa is ideally located in the centre of Corfu, approx. 11 kms north west of Corfu town and only a few hundred metres from the local village of Agios Ioannis. From here you are able to start all your excursions.
The most important is Corfu town with all its shops, museums, art galleries, Old and New Fortress.
Aqualand Waterpark Sports and Leisure Centre is only 2 km away on the far side of Ag. Ioannis a must for families with children.
Beaches of East and West Coast are within 5 - 15 mins. drive away.
Pelekas and the "Kaiser´s Throne". Here you will find fantastic views and you will enjoy the most beautiful sunset.
Paleokastritsa with its monastry and boating facilities is a short drive north-west along the Ropa Valley road.
Achillion - the castle of Empress Elisabeth of Austria called "Sissi" with beautiful views across the island and impressive flower garden.
Ropa Valley Golf Club is only a 5 - 10 mins drive away.
Pony Trekking and Cycle Hire is also close by in Ag. Ioannis and Afra.

"A highly recommended villa."
We had a superb family holiday at Stone Rose Villa; we had the choice of relaxing around the pool, games in the garden with the children or exploring Corfu. Centrally situated in the island, the villa… More

"Beautiful villa, excellent service"
The owners of the villa (Rose and Chris) were very attentive from the time we first enquired about the villa until the end of our stay. They met us from the airport so that we could follow them to the villa and gave us lots of useful local information once we arrived. They provided a welcome pack with some essentials as well as some luxuries, which was a nice touch and meant we didn't have to go shopping immediately. Rose phoned us the next day to check all was well and to tell us not to hesitate to contact them should we need any assistance.
The villa itself is lovely and looks exactly as the photos show. The cleanliness of the pool is kept to a very high standard, and the garden is lovely. This is a beautiful villa for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
A car is essential as the villa is a little off the beaten track, and I wouldn't have liked to have walked on the local roads in the dark as there are no pavements and lots of pot holes! However, with a car the villa is only minutes away from shops and restaurants.
If we were to visit Corfu again we would definately stay at Stone Rose Villa, and thouroughly recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful, relaxing home from home.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the villa. The pictures are very true to what you actually get.
The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They came to pick us up at the ferry harbor and then joined us to pick additional friends at the airport. When we arrived at the villa, they provided us a lot of information including local maps with handwritten highlights of all the important sights in the area, recommended restaurants and beaches and other tips. They were available for any assistance we needed and personally very charming.
The rooms are very spacious. The villa was handed over to us very clean and was cleaned once during our stay. The pool is maintained at a very high level of hygiene and the garden and lawn are well kept. The welcome package is definitely a nice touch.
The kitchen is nicely equipped to do actual cooking (which is a rarity). All the electrical appliances work nicely including the air conditioning, although we did have some problems with capacity.
As to the location, it's very convenient if you're not looking for something that's right on the beach, but you must have a car!
For us, this villa provided a great holiday in Corfu.

"Home from home"
We stayed in the property over the easter week and were very pleased with it and its location. The property has plenty of room to accommodate two pensioners, two adults and two young children (there are four rooms all of which are private and spacious). It is very comfortably furnished, very clean and is well equipped with everything needed to "run a home". The pool and patio areas are lovely with plenty of seating and really nice views to the mountains in the distance. The location is peaceful and relaxing with only the occassional sounds of the local wildlife.
The owners were on tap whenever needed and the service they offered was excellent (even providing a free welcome pack and individual toiletries/slippers in each room, on arrival AND they met us at the airport to show us the way). Nothing was too much trouble. In fact, the only reason that the property did not get a review of "5" is because we had some issues with the central heating whilst we were there (April was a little cold at night), but the owners dealt with the issue immediately.
The villa was also in a great position, literelly within 10-15 minutes walking distance of a couple of tavernas (Paradiso being one of them, which we visited at least 3 times as the food and service was great.....and also very inexpensive). Corfu town is around 15 minutes away in the car and some of the most beautiful bays and beaches are within 20 -30 minutes drive. We drove all over the island and it is really beautiful.
I would highly recommend this property and would say that it is one of the best properties that I've stayed in (and I've stayed in a few all over Europe). If I ever go back to Corfu I would definitely be looking to hire this property again.
