Vilelmina apartment
About the home
This modern, spacious apartment shares a swimming pool with Villelmina House, which is situated above it. The views are absolutely incredible, and are perhaps the greatest asset of this attractive apartment. Only a short distance from the up-market resort of St Stephano with its popular quay-side tavernas, and a few minutes drive to busy Kassiopi (offering a great variety of shopping, entertainment and dining opportunities) and, we feel, situated in an ideal location. The village of Sinies with its bakery, taverna, supermarket and two traditional coffee-shops (cafeneia) are within a few minutes' walk of the property.
'Vilelmina Apartment' has 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4), one master double bedroom and one twin bedroom with a bathroom in the middle of them. The very well equipped kitchen is connected with the lounge and leads you to a large balcony with outstanding views.
The large covered private balcony is a very special retreat at any time of day, with its glorious uninterrupted views. Perhaps at night especially, though, when the twinkling lights from the coastal resorts and passing ships lend a very romantic feel to an evening meal.
The apartment is light, airy and air-conditioned. The lounge area has comfortable furnishings with Satellite TV (free channels only). French doors open onto a magnificent tiled balcony.
Whether enjoying an outdoor meal, reading or just relaxing, you will find it very hard to ignore the glorious views spread out before you.
The master double bedroom is prettily decorated and has French doors opening directly on to the main balcony.
The second bedroom is a twin, again very nicely decorated and with built-in wardrobes.
The bathroom is situated between the two bedrooms, and has a half bath with shower unit over, w.c and vanity unit with mirror.
The modern kitchen is equipped with a full-sized cooker and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, with a table and chairs for eating inside.
The pool is located below the villa, and accessed by a flight of stone-flagged steps. Thanks to its elevated position and south-facing aspect, it enjoys sun almost all day long.

The Ionian Islands region
The island of Corfu is located just off the West coast of Greece. Corfu enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate along with excellent beaches making it a popular destination for holiday makers. Corfu is very green compared to other Greek islands: hot and dry summers along with winter rain creates lush vegetation which is dominated by over 3 million olive trees. These olive trees on Corfu are the main cultivation, although Corfu's tourism now provides the most income. Corfu is one of the Ionian Islands which nestle off the West side of the Greek mainland. The island is 36 miles long and at its widest part, the North, 15 miles wide. Covered with over 3 million evergreen olive trees, watered by winter rains, Corfu, even during the hot dry summers remains one of the greenest of the Mediterranean islands. At the center is 'Mount Pantocrator' with a height of 998 meters. The North East coast is made up of sheltered rocky coves and shingle beaches offering secluded bays and traditional fishing villages. The North and South offer long sweeping sandy bays and the expected commercialism. The craggy west coast, with the high cliffs and horse-shoe sandy beaches, offers and spectacular sunsets.Along the Corfu coast, search for quiet rocky coves or untouched sandy beaches. Inland a network of twisting roads service local villages that seem totally untouched by tourism; stop and explore and meet the warm and friendly Corfiot people. Discover deserted villages such as Old Sinies and Perithia with sheep and goats being the only residents!
Some say that Corfu could be the most beautiful island in the world. It is the second largest island in a group of seven, known as the Ionian Islands and is located just off the west coast of Greece, nearer to Albania than to the rest of Greece. Corfu is one of the most popular of the Greek islands. With a wealth of natural beauty, a rich culture that spans centuries and a gentle magnetic appeal, it is easy to see what draws people back to Corfu year after year.
The climate of the island of Corfu is typical Mediterranean with hot and dry summers and a wonderful clear blue sky.
Take a little time to explore the island of Corfu and you will be rewarded with some of the most spectacular scenery and interesting sites. A trip into the heart of the island will give you an insight into Corfiot village life.
The island of Corfu is a naturalist's paradise and the ever popular book and film "My family and other animals" written by Gerald Durrell will have already given an insight to the variety of flower and fauna on this island
For many years Greece was know as one of the world's most important exporters of olive oil and Corfu is no exception. There is said to be more than 9 million Olive trees in Corfu.
The island of Corfu has an enormous variety of scenery; bare limestone mountains on Pantokrator, forest covered hillsides. Step into a walker's paradise, where at every turn, a new scene is revealed
The beach is definitely an essential component for making your holiday one to remember and Corfu's coastline is awash with superb beaches. There are many to choose from – miles of golden sand, pebbles (if you prefer to sand) rocky coves, secluded or busier beaches with beach bars and watersports.
Corfu offers unlimited possibilities for lovers of horseback riding.
Aqualand, the impressive water park on the island of Corfu is situated in the heart of the island at Agios Ioannis and is spread over 125,000 square meters of ground
As well as hiking, mountain biking has become more and more popular each year and is a unique way to discover the real Corfu and explore the unspoilt parts.

Kerasia – Corfu
The long sweeping beach of Kerasia is one of the most beautiful on the island, with excellent swimming and snorkelling. Ideal for people who are looking for peace and quiet, to laze in the sun or enjoy a quiet read. One taverna and a small tourist shop will cater to your needs. Although Kerasia may be too quiet for teenage children, nearby Saint Stephanos, with its two cocktail bars and several tavernas will certainly entertain them.
Sinies – Above Kerasia
Sinies – Above Kerasia Sinies is the name of an entire area, on the hillsides above Kerasia and St Stephano. The centre is old-established, and has amenities that cater for the local people as well as the visitors – a well-run supermarket with a surprising array of goods and an English-speaking proprietor, and a very traditional cafeneion that seems to be the local operations centre! There is also a bakery and pastry shop. Sinies lies just off the main road, and it is only about ten minutes drive from here to the busy resort of Kassiopi. Roads lead off from Sinies in all directions – down to the coast, to the very pretty harbour of St Stephano with its shops, restaurants and other amenities, and also to the enchanting bay and beach of Kerasia. Uphill in the opposite direction, roads lead up to tiny mountainside hamlets such as Porta, Kokkini and Kokkokylas, with their ancient stone houses. There is fine walking to be found in these upland areas, amidst some of Corfu’s most unspoiled scenery.
Dancing festival every year at end of june- july.Traditional local fiesta in august.
Saint Stephanos
Agios (Saint) Stephanos is an extremely pretty fishing village, located between Kalami and Kassiopi. This little fishing village has now become a very popular ‘up market’ resort with many stylish holiday villas. A thriving local Greek community welcomes its visitors with the warmth and hospitality for which Greece is famous. With several excellent tavernas, 2 cocktail bars, 2 supermarkets, a gift shop and boat hire, it is the perfect base for a holiday.
Kassiopi – Corfu
Kassiopi is a lively resort at the North East corner of Corfu. A charming little fishing village, with a traditional port. Tourism has of course had its influence, but down at the harbour you can still find local fishermen bringing home the morning catch. Tavernas, shops, beaches and bars offer something for everyone. The teens in your party will appreciate the evening life – with several music bars and ‘low key’ clubs, it is a safe environment for them to meet other friends.
Kouloura
The tiny fishing village of Kouloura is a working harbour, where many of the locals moor their boats. The view of the harbour is probably one of the most famous in the area, having been painted by many visiting artists. The main house is owned by the Italian Agnelli family (with Ferrari connection!) and is used as their holiday home. The nearby Taverna specializes in locally caught fish. Kouloura is an excellent example of a small traditional Greek bay that has not been influenced by tourism.
