Porto has a pleasant, covered terrace that is the perfect spot to start or end another wonderful day of that precious holiday. The bakery and supermarket is close enough for the croissants to be still hot when you go to fetch them for breakfast! The accommodation is simple but just right for anyone who wants to be right at the heart of everything, with beach, harbour, bars, restaurants and shops close by. Ideal for a couple or a small family.
A few steps, shaded by a healthy vine, lead up from the lane to the covered terrace of Porto Villa, from which the front door opens into a simply furnished sitting area that in turn leads to the kitchen and dining area. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twin beds, and a bathroom with small bath. All the accommodation is on the same level.

Simply furnished in traditional style, the lounge benefits from the front terrace which is big enough to make a comfortable area for outdoor meals or just watching the ever-interesting village activity. The dining area adjoins the kitchen. The kitchen is neatly equipped with a full cooker and fridge/freezer.Porto has two bedrooms, both having the benefit of air-conditioning. The twin bedroom occupies a corner position, and its two windows make it particularly light and airy. Neatly finished, the modern bathroom offers everything you need for a small family or two couples.

The terrace of Porto is as good as an extra living room, with comfortable chairs and a table, and a view towards the harbour-front of St. Stephano. It is roofed, and therefore shaded from direct sun.

The Ionian Islands region
The island of Corfu is located just off the West coast of Greece. Corfu enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate along with excellent beaches making it a popular destination for holiday makers. Corfu is very green compared to other Greek islands: hot and dry summers along with winter rain creates lush vegetation which is dominated by over 2 million olive trees. These olive trees on Corfu are the main cultivation, although Corfu's tourism now provides the most income.
The Corfu / Agios Stephanos area
Saint Stephanos: The island of Corfu has its secrets and Saint Stephanos, set around a horse-shoe shaped bay, is certainly one of them. An extremely pretty fishing village, located between Kalami and Kassiopi, that has managed to retain its traditional look and laidback feel . There is a small local Greek community that welcomes its visitors with the warmth and hospitality for which Greece is famous. The excellent setting, waterfront Tavernas and bars, along with a scattering of mini-markets, shops and boat hire create a delightful Greek island holiday destination.

Despite holidaying during the wettest April since records began I would heartily recommend this holiday rental. Just a couple of hundred yards to the water's edge and several tavernas - yes, they were open even in April. The accommodation had air conditioning but we used it for heating. Verandah was well used as it was covered!
Very posh area....but not TOO posh. None of your lager louts here! The food in the local tavernas was the best on the island. Don't wait....book it!

We recently stayed at this house which is right in the centre of Agios Stephanos NE. The patio at the front of the house is such a lovely place to sit and have breakfast on a morning or a nice relaxing glass of wine on a warm evening watching the world go by. The location couldn't be better, right next to the harbour with its excellent tavernas. The only slight criticism was the hard mattress but we soon got used to it. Thoroughly recommended.
