The Ionian Islands region

Some say that Corfu could be the most beautiful island in the world. It is the second largest island in a group of seven, known as the Ionian Islands and is located just off the west coast of Greece, nearer to Albania than to the rest of Greece

Corfu is one of the most popular and most beautiful of the Greek islands. With a wealth of natural beauty, a rich culture that spans centuries and a gentle magnetic appeal, it is easy to see what draws people back to Corfu year after year.

The climate of the island of Corfu is typical Mediterranean with hot and dry summers and a wonderful clear blue sky.

Take a little time to explore the island of Corfu and you will be rewarded with some of the most spectacular scenery and interesting sites. A trip into the heart of the island will give you an insight into Corfiot village life.

The island of Corfu is a naturalist's paradise and the ever popular book and film "My family and other animals" written by Gerald Durrell will have already given an insight to the variety of flower and fauna on this island.

Kaminaki is situated on the north east coast of Corfu and is accessed by a steep downhill road, it is a hidden secret spectacularly beautiful and enchanting bay. Kaminaki is an idyllic little cove with a beach of white pebbles, translucent acqua marine waters and a seafront taverna. The backfall of the mountain and trees surrounding this blissfully peaceful hamlet with village houses makes Kaminaki a perfect spot for swimming and offers a peaceful atmosphere. It has remained uniquely unspoilt and the local inhabitants still leave there .. Watersports and boat hire available.

Sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented. Small supermarket is open each morning for fresh bread, fruit and a small selection of groceries. . . The complete absence of noisy evening entertainment are other virtues - evenings end here with a quiet drink overlooking the sea, conversation with new or old friends.

Nissaki which is neartby means "little island" and this beautiful little bay is surrounded by natural beauty. Nestled at the foothills of Mount Pantocrator this is the spot for those seeking a quieter atmosphere whilst on holiday in Corfu.

White pebble beach with crystal clear water and seafront tavernas overlook the bay.

The small hamlet of Nissaki has managed to escape any large scale tourist development and, as such, enjoys an unhurried pace of life and a truly relaxed atmosphere. It is ideally located between the villages Barbati and Kassiopi

Nissaki Bay has three picturesque coves each sheltering its own pebble beach with blue waters so clean that it allows you to see the rich marine life and the beautiful underwater landscape. One of the beaches has a tiny anchorage backed by a couple of fine tavernas. All the beaches have sun beds and parasols, motorboats to hire and a selection of water sports to enjoy.. Furthermore, on the main road there is a good selection of eateries always with stunning sea views from their dining terraces and also a couple of good supermarkets and a bakery along with a few gift shops.
