About the home

This ‘Mulino’ complete with traditional Tuscan Arches, is situated in the depths of the countryside from Lucca, and is on the outskirts (1.5km ) of the pretty Media Valle village of Coreglia, where one can find all basic facilities and two restaurants.

This old Mill is located 500M down an unmade track road, beside a trout stream. The very pretty village of Coreglia with its basic shops and two restaurants is only a 1.5km walk (uphill). Coreglia itself is situated in the Media Valle part of the Provincia di Lucca, only a 40 minute drive from the wonderful walled City of Lucca itself, 1 hour from Pisa, 1 hour from the coast, and from Florence. The majestic Garfagnana is only a 20 minute drive away…The real beauty of this area is the hundreds of hill top villages to discover and the wonderful countryside…

Enter hallway with kitchen diner on left . Oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and further aga style oven. Hallway leads through to living room with fireplace and open gallery area above. Downstairs bathroom with hydromassage tub. Upstairs to galleried landing. 2 double bedrooms – one very large and airy and with sky lights. 1 children’s room with bunk beds and extra bed. Shower room.

Lots of land leading down to trout stream which is great fun also for children (with supervision). Plenty of room for playing ball games etc.

Swimming pool . Covered loggia area for al fresco dining BBQ Outdoor wood oven.

Bedding and towels are included in the cost of any stay, as well as all utilities with the exception of heating which if required is payable locally. We take a 15% deposit with the remainder payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. We accept payment in sterling and euros.

The Tuscany / Lucca Province region

The Tuscan Region of Italy is well known for its warm balmy summers, beautiful countryside, rolling hills, mouth - watering food, and of course its towns and villages, rich with mediaeval architecture…

The Garfagnana region of Tuscany, often known as its ‘Green Lung’ is situated away from the milling crowds that can often be found at the most famous Tuscan locations and is totally unspoilt, remaining untouched by tourism. The scenery is spectacular, green and mountainous with views of both the Apuane and Appenine mountains at every turn…And, due to the altitude whilst the weather can be very hot, it is always pleasantly cool for sleeping…

The food is usually home made, using home grown produce, and is typically simple and extremely tasty. Prices here remain very reasonable due to the fact that food is prepared with the locals, and not tourists in mind…The local wine is cheap and surprisingly drinkable! The pace of life is slow and peaceful – spend your days enjoying secluded picnics, swimming in rivers, or watching locals play bocce or ‘cheese throwing’. Visit hundreds of ancient hill top villages, or relax at home basking in stunning scenery.

For ‘townie’ days, visit the mediaeval towns of Barga, Lucca, Castelnuovo, with Pisa and Florence within easy reach too…This is Olde Worlde Italy.
