The Central Argentina region

Córdoba is one of the most important economic centers in the country. It has with many contrasting features— it is both a cultural and tourist-like destination, a traditional and modern city, with an industrialized as well as a home-made production.

A hilly landscape and favorable weather conditions are distinctive in Córdoba, a place where natural sceneries are mixed with colonial monuments. Little towns, historical antiques and cave paintings are found in a pleasant valley landscape, high plains and gorges.

Cordoba's hills rise toward the northwestern Pampas plains. They are part of the “Sierras Pampeanas” mountain range, reaching 2,790 m high in the Champaqui hill. All these hills are particularly appealing because of their fertile valleys, deserts and salt mines.

All along the way northward, you will find many 17th and 18th century chapels and farmhouses inherited from the Jesuits.

Cordoba

Located in what is called the Sierras Chicas (Small Mountain Range) in Córdoba, not only does the nice-looking City of Río Ceballos offer all kinds of services and activities for visitors, but it also provides tourists new attractions year after year.

The river is the main source of vitality in town, where the greenness is combined with the typical hues of the mountain range.

The district is accessed from the capital of the province either through a road that joins it with Unquillo or along the new road called Pajas Blancas, on which Cordoba's International Airport is located.

The city's thriving trade is becoming more and more important as this urban settlement continues to lure visitors due to its temperate and dry mountain climate, ideal to enjoy nautical sports or contemplative tourism, something coveted by people of all ages.

Its main natural scenes include various reserves visited by tourists from all over the world year round. Some of them have managed to turn this city into an icon, namely: Los Hornillos Creek and its singular cascade and La Quebrada Dam.

The architecture of the City of Río Ceballos features Norman style, which has provided a very particular kind of magic ever since the days on which the first settlements took place.

The local church and the amphitheater enjoy this privilege, just like some of the bridges that cross the local rivers. They are a faithful reflection of how the ornamentation used to decorate the city was designed.

Some local attractions that should not be missed are the Jorge Newbery promenade, the municipal swim hole and La Quebrada Dam, which boasts a natural water reserve where angling and SCUBA diving may be practiced.
