La Gaudane nestles at the base of the magnificent medieval bastide town of Cordes Sur Ciel and is surrounded by the beautiful Tarn countryside. The apartment provide spacious self catering accommodation for unforgetable holidays for the whole family. Owners has 4 bedrooms and will sleep up to 10 people. Our guests can enjoy all that this area has to offer including gourmet meals, fabulous wine and visiting the medieval towns in the neighbouring areas. For the younger guests, there are several water parks, theme parks, zoos, sailing, kayaking and sports such as tennis and golf all available nearby.
English resident guardians are available for advice, recommendations etc.Weekly maid service (or more often if required by arrangement)

The Midi-Pyrenees / Tarn region
The wonderful Tarn is an area of great beauty and has to be visited to appreciated as photos do not do it justice! Driving through the unspoilt and peaceful countryside is a joy on its own - through the undulating fields of vineyards and sunflowers. Visit the beautiful rivers in the region especially the Averyon with its high gorges where a trip in a kayak is a must to experience the thrill and scenery first hand.
Just a short drive away are the towns of Albi and Gaillac - both full of interest and history and definitely a must during your stay.
There are numerous French markets to visit - almost one every day - but the one top of your list must be the Sunday market at St. Antonin - the town where the film Charlotte Grey was made. And then there are the restaurants - restaurants for everybody and every budget - ranging from the gourmet produits du terroir to take-away at McDonalds!
Cordes-sur-Ciel area
Cordes Sur Ciel has been rated the best example of a 13th century bastide town in France! From a distance it looks like a disney film set but it is definitely real and has to be visited to be believed. In the old city you will find tasteful shops, musuems, craft workshops, restaurants, art studios and a wonderful church. The old city is a mere 10 minute walk from La Gaudane.
The village of Cordes Sur Ciel has all the amenities you could want - supermarket, banks, chemist, boulangerie for the wonderful freshly-baked bread and croissants, etc. etc. Visit the lively Saturday morning market too - it is only a 5 minute stroll away!
If you are visiting Cordes around the 14th July, then you must participate in the 3 day medieval festivities - when the whole town dresses up in medieval costume and the city reverts back to how life was in the 13th century - all topped off by a medieval banquet!
How to get there
The nearest airports are Toulouse (70kms) and Rodez (70kms). There are numerous budget flights to both of these airports. Rodez is currently served by Ryanair out of Stanstead from the UK. Cordes Sur Ciel is situated about 40 miles from Junction 59 of the A20 for guests travelling down by car.

Further details indoors: La Gaudane has an large outdoor pool with a large sun terrace overlooking the wonderful views. There is also a BBQ, outdoor fridge, petanque area, sun chairs and tables for guests to use. We have a large private car park so cars are parked securely. A table tennis table and pool table are available for guests' use.
