About the home

A lovely stone villa on the quiet but exclusive development of Lithos Village, a few minutes from the beach. Villa Levander is a classic Mediterranean house with gorgeous views across the Cyprus countryside and down to the sea. It's also within walking distance from the traditional Greek village of Pegeia which has great beaches, dramatic rock formations in the sea, and lots of restaurants and shops.

The house is on a quiet avenue lined with cypress trees and other detached stone villas. All the rooms at the villa are on one level. They're airy and light with white walls, terracotta-tiled floors and traditional country furniture. There's an open-plan lounge and dining room with comfortable leather sofas, dining table and chairs, complete with a flat-screen TV, dvd/cd stereo.

The kitchen area is a farmhouse design with wooden cupboards, and appliances including a dishwasher, a washer and a microwave. All bedrooms are complete with en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning. They have lovely wooden furniture - especially the double room which has a four-poster country bed. This room and the twin nextdoor both have direct access out onto the pool-terrace with views down to the sea.

The pool-garden is a lovely sunny space with a great pool, large sun-terraces, a stone barbecue and a brand new heated hot-tub. Here you can relax on the comfortable wicker chairs or dine al-fresco under the covered terrace and enjoy the uninterrupted views down over the valley and out to sea at Coral Bay.

Villa Levander is a beautiful house full of relaxing spaces. It's in a really sought-after place with great views. And it's close to lots of interesting villages and parts of the coast. Pegeia, a 25-minute walk from the house, is a pretty town in lovely countryside which is also close to sandy beaches. You can also try lots of holiday sports there - cycling, tennis, horse riding and even go-carting. And you can drive to the centre of Coral Bay in a couple of minutes, to the beach, restaurants, cafés, shops and clubs - or walk down the hill in 30 minutes. The villa is also next door to the Villa Sunflower making this an ideal holiday retreat for groups of up to twelve or two large families.

The beautiful beach resort of Coral Bay is often described as the best bay on the west of the island. And it's no surprise, when you consider the calm turquoise sea, dipping gently into some of the clearest off shore diving space in the Mediterranean, the scattered palm trees, the 600 metres of soft white sand and, in summertime, the almost cloudless blue skies.

Tourism came to the seaside village of Coral Bay later than many other Mediterranean holiday destinations, and despite its popularity the resort has retained a genuine local charm. Dating back to pre-Roman times this has been a bustling city, so it is literally full of sights of archaeological interest. For example, the Tombs of the Kings is an amazing subterranean world full of hugely decorous tombs, with pillars and ancient engravings. Also of note is the Agia Solomoni church, which is still covered in some 12th Century frescos, a rare sight this far east in the Mediterranean, while according to legend the tree outside the church has healing properties. Meanwhile, the Mosaics of Paphos are considered among the finest in the eastern Mediterranean. Also known as Ayrios Georgios, this picturesque fishing harbour is one of the island's best places to enjoy a seaside holiday. The fantastic sandy beach is popular with sunbathers and leads into a gloriously warm, clear sea. You can enjoy all sorts of seaside pastimes including snorkelling, safe bathing and even scuba diving. If that doesn't whet your appetite then the menus in the local fish tavernas certainly will. With amazing fresh local fish being hauled right into the harbour every day, the selection of fine seafood dishes is mouth watering. Our recommendation is to try a fish mezze in one of the restaurants overlooking the ocean.
