"A perfect location being a short drive to Coral Bay beach which was great for the children as the sea is so warm, clear and calm…we always enjoyed returning to our wonderful retreat at Villa Iris though, and loved the complete privacy of the garden and pool" Jan Winter

Villa Iris is a spacious detached villa with wi-fi, surrounded by a gorgeous 1 acre mature garden set within thick Cypress hedges which offer complete privacy, tucked away in a quiet lane, (you cannot be seen or overlooked by other properties). There are lovely sea views across countryside to the sea, especially from the front verandah, which is shaded by a beautiful scrambling cream bougainvillea, making it a really enjoyable place to sit and relax. Akamas National Park and Coral Bay are both close by.

We also offer 10 or 11 night holidays here when dates fit.

Villa Iris is perfect for couples, families and groups of adults and has a large private south facing swimming pool and gets full sunshine (the photo above was taken early evening).

2 bicycles are available at no extra charge and the area is fairly flat. You could cycle to Corallia sandy beach for example, 10 minutes approx. And the coast road there is ideal for cycling. The traditional village of Peyia and Coral Bay resort with many shops, bars and restaurants are approx 10 mins drive. Ayios Georgios sandy beach and harbour is 5 mins drive. There are a few tavernas within walking distance, the closest being the excellent Palomonastiro Taverna 500m, approx 5 mins walk.

Nearby King Soloman's Taverna is very popular with clients too, and well worth visiting no matter where you stay. Paphos Town, with its daily fruit and craft market and interesting shops, is approx 30 mins drive.

Should Villa Iris be full for your dates, I have 2 secluded villas nearby as I specialise in secluded villas with pools.

Chere Irene,

Hi Irene,

We really enjoyed our holiday. The villa was wonderful and also everything was there for us.

Also there was a hamper which we really liked, because we were very hungry after the journey.

And also the owner was really kind for us. We contacted him twice, and they were really helpful.

(once for the internet and once for the washing machine)

So it was really nice and we had a great time! We really recommend this too friends or family!!

Thank you,

Best regards,

Marjan en Olivier

Excellent accommodation and service!

We stayed here for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and chose this villa for its privacy and location. Although we only used one of its three bedrooms we still consider it a good choice. We may well return in the future, possibly with friends. We arrived late and found everything had been well prepared and was perfectly clean. We had a minor problem with the hair dryer but it was replaced immediately by the owner after contacting Nicole the Paphos Rep.

The large garden and pool surround was very secluded and the pool was very clean and inviting. Living accommodation was spacious too.

All in all, highly recommended.

Stan and Jan

Hello Irene

We did enjoy our holiday at Villa Iris. It was lovely. Stavros and his wife were there to greet us within minutes of our arrival, and another friend dropped in to make sure the television was working. The food hamper was stored in the fridge for us. Everything was very clean and in its place. They had put a new toaster and coffee machine in the villa and left a couple of dishwasher tablets until I got organised. We really enjoyed picking oranges and grapefruit to have fresh for breakfast every morning. We would recommend the Villa and we would certainly not hesitate to go there again.

It really was a lovely holiday.

Phillip and Margaret

Hi Irene,

We had one of the best holidays we have ever had. The villa was fantastic, it's location is great. The local restaurants were great especially the one at the end of the road, within walking distance and great food. We also visitedYiannis's in Kathikas and loved it, great food and a lovely atmosphere.

Nicole was lovely and a great help when ever we needed anything, she helped with our trip to Latchi which we all enjoyed.

I would not hesitate to recommend you and I would definitely rebook with you.

Kind Regards

Shelley Morgan

Hi Irene,

Villa Iris was absolutely perfect for us and what we were looking for.

You did us proud in pointing us in the right direction. From the first phone call to getting home it was quite the perfect holiday that you matched up for us. Car hire was first class and it was a great touch to meet us at the arrivals with the keys, it couldn't have gone any smoother if Nick had met us at the bottom of the planes steps with the car doors open! A lovely touch and so painless.

The villa was superb, lovely peaceful location and to have the facility of being able to have freshly squeezed orange juice on tap was fantastic. From tree to glass in a few moments was wonderful. The pool was great to have and all facilities and amenities close by if needed.

The villa was clean and tidy and the welcome pack came in very handy.

Our rep was a great help to us and we tapped her wealth of knowledge on more than a few occasions. The best meals we ate were the ones where we drove out a little, we found a great village mentioned in your pack I believe called Kathikas. There were two lovely restaurants opposite each other, Imogens and Yiannis Tavern...well I highly recommend driving here as we kept coming back...the food and ambience in both was superb and half the prices of the meals we had before. The portions were huge and so tasty...I can taste them now as I write...well worth the price of the hire car alone to get there!

The villa is ideal for couples seeking privacy or families seeking fun and relaxation. It was absolutely ideal for us and we look forward to our next visit.

As for you Irene I can't thank you enough for organising a perfect holiday from start to finish, your recommendations were ideal and the holiday was all we wanted and more...thank you from all of us...and we'll be in touch soon for our next trip.

Tony xxx

Hi Irene,

We had a great time in Cyprus thanks. The Villa Iris was lovely, clean and beautifully situated in an olive, orange and lemon grove.

We had many great meals in Cyprus but anyone staying at Iris is very fortunate to be so close to the Restaurant Palimonastiro which is only a couple of minutes walk away. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and the bar, Georges, just across from it is also very welcoming.

Overall we had a great holiday and we would definitely book with Sundance Villas again.

Best Wishes

About this location

The Paphos District

Before you go we will send you lots of info

Paphos, once the capital of Cyprus, is on the southwestern edge of the island, and well placed for excursions to all the main sights. Dubbed the 'Western Cyprus Riviera', it's quieter than the southern resorts of Larnaca and Limassol, but still offers plenty for sun-seekers, families, cultural types and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

History and culture are two of the island's big selling points, and you don't have to venture far to find them in Paphos, where the whole town is UNESCO listed. The island's most visited site is the Tomb of the Kings, a stone's throw from the city centre, dating back to 4 BC. High dignitaries and officials, rather than kings, were buried here, but the underground houses for the dead, with their imposing entrance columns and wells, are worthy of their royal tag.

As well as being the mythical birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, Paphos is famous for having been visited by the apostle Paul. The town is packed with churches and ecclesiastical monuments and visitors can follow in the saint's footsteps on a religious sightseeing route.

Close to Paphos harbour is the house of Dionysos, a villa containing some of the best preserved mosaics in the Mediterranean region. Mainly depicting scenes from Greek mythology, they were accidentally discovered by a farmer ploughing his field. It's worth recommending that clients go on a guided tour to bring the mosaics to life.

A 'must see' site outside the town is the ancient city kingdom of Kourion, on the inland road between Limassol and Paphos. Arguably the island's most spectacular archaeological treasure, it is dominated by a magnificent Greco-Roman theatre.

With water temperatures ranging from 16C-27C, and virtually year-round sunshine, Paphos is a paradise for water sports fans. Sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, parascending, jet skiing and surfing are among the attractions on offer, and all the big resort hotels have water sports centres.

Below the surface, Cyprus boasts one of the longest diving seasons in the Mediterranean, from March until November, with exceptional conditions and crystal-clear water. Some of the best dive sites can be found off Paphos, including the remains of sunken shipwrecks.

Back on dry land, the stunning stretch of coast between Paphos and Limassol is where visitors can take the classic shot of Aphrodite's Rock, said to mark the spot where the goddess emerged from the sea.

The Baths of Aphrodite, where she relaxed after entertaining her lovers, can be found on the Akamas peninsular further west. Anyone who bathes there will supposedly be blessed with eternal youth, but it's strictly forbidden to jump in to find out if the legend has any truth in it.

Paphos is at its liveliest at night, when the bars, restaurants and clubs bring together tourists and locals of all ages. The heart of the nightlife scene is Agiou Antoniou, aka Bar Street.

Strike out in any direction from Paphos and, within a few miles, you'll find long stretches of sandy beaches, rugged hills and rolling countryside.

Some of the most popular hiking trails can be found in the Troodos Mountains, an hour's drive from Paphos, including several easy marked paths and circular routes. The Troodos also provide some of the most spectacular scenery for cyclists, but you need plenty of gears and energy to get up the long hills. For a less tiring option, mountain bikes can be hired at visitor centres.

People are often surprised to discover they can ski in Cyprus. The Troodos slopes are normally open from the beginning of January to the end of March, and it's a novel experience to ski in the morning and sunbathe in the afternoon. Cyprus is also gaining popularity as a golfing destination. Tsada, the island's first course, is 15 minutes from Paphos, and Secret Valley is 25 minutes from the town.

Cyprus is one of the world's oldest wine-producing countries with a winemaking history dating back to at least 2,000 BC. The vine-growing co-operative SODAP has a base in Paphos, offering morning tours and tastings. Wine lovers who want to venture further afield can visit wineries in picturesque villages around Paphos, including Salamiou, Pretori and the monastery winery at Panagia Chrysorrogiatissa.

We will send you lots of info re wines and eating out.

Coral Bay/ St George Bay Pegeia

The Akamas peninsula nearby covers about 230 square km and is located on the western tip of Cyprus. Protected as an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is the perfect location to enjoy outdoor activities such as cycling and hiking.

A major characteristic of this peninsula is its beaches. Akamas is the only large unspoiled coastal area remaining in Cyprus.

"A pleasant, secluded villa"

The villa was pleasant, clean and practical - the grounds well tended. We particularly liked the layout on a single story, with the bedrooms all together on one side. From a family perspective having no hard, slippy stone staircase for the children to negotiate was a plus. The bougainvillea over the the top of the terrace was great, offering some welcome shade. The location was fine and overall the villa offered relatively good value.

Nicole the Sundance rep was was most helpful on the odd occassion we needed some assistance.

All in all we had a great time and we would consider booking through Sundance again.
