GUEST BOOK FOR MILLGATE COTTAGE
Thank you so much again for sharing Millgate Cottage with us. We three ladies were fawning over how perfectly it was decorated and laid out. And the location was excellent, being just a short walk from both the train station and the quayside where the half marathon started. Just a lovely stay all around. Maureen Ellinwood Northern Ireland
"A delightful cottage in the heart of a wonderful town!"
Millgate Cottage is a dream of a small holiday rental. Well situated for all that the wonderful town of Conwy has to offer. A 2 minute walk to the train station where you can catch trains to explore further afield, such as Bangor, Holyhead, Chester or simply change at the next stop for Llandudno. Lots of interesting places to explore on foot - Conwy Hill, Conwy Castle, Plas Mawr, along the quayside and to the marina. Try the coastal walk from the cottage around the Great Orme, then catch the bus or train back from Llandudno. Everyone is so friendly and helpful in this area. The cottage itself is even nicer than it appears in the photographs. It is beautifully designed, lovely furnishings and extremely clean and well decorated. Where else can you have a shower whilst looking out on to the old town walls? The new owner Phillip goes out of his way to make you feel at home and during our stay we had tasteful Christmas decorations, door wreath and seasonal lights throughout the cottage. The welcome tray was very enjoyable with mulled wine and locally baked mince pies. Do try the freshly fried cod at the Fisherman chip shop off the main street at the bottom of the town (off the quay) and the hot pork pies from the bakers opposite that chip shop. Next door to Millgate Cottage is a small health and beauty salon. A massage or reflexology session is a great holiday treat (contact - riverside-therapies.com) and I could potter back 'home' in my slippers. We cannot believe our good fortune at finding this holiday let and did not want to leave! It was an excellent find and we will be back!! Debbie Foster, Derbyshire
Millgate Cottage is even better than it looks in the promotional pictures. It has been renovated in a very contemporary style, yet it remains sympathetic to the age of the property. Although not huge, there really is everything you could need for a holiday, the owner has equipped it to a high standard and we did not want for anything. The furnishings are very tasteful, so much so I may pinch a few ideas! It is a really cosy cottage and we were very comfortable on the dark, wet evenings. The location could not be any better, the cottage is right next to Conwy Castle and about 2 minutes walk into the town centre. We were so grateful that we could bring our well behaved dog and he had a brilliant time too. There are lots of lovely beaches near by and a great walk to Conwy Marina along the river. We have been to Conwy before and can recommend Conwy Castle, Penryhn Castle, Bodnant Gardens, Betws y Coed, Llandudno (do try the tram ride to the summit of the Great Orme). Beaches for dog walking - Llandudno (West Shore) and aberconwy are really close by and out of season provide a vast expanse of clean, safe sand for your pooch to enjoy. Must give a mention to the little extras the owner provided, fresh flowers, Halloween treats for the kids and even a Halloween outfit for the dog! He is a very nice man and seems to genuinely care that you have a good time. We thoroughly recommend Millgate Cottage and will hopefully be returning very soon. Thanks for a lovely stay. The North Wales region
North Wales is a good choice for many for family breaks. There are lots of opportunities for outdoor activities which both adults and children can enjoy with the added benefit of tiring kids out, leaving you hopefully to have a relaxing evening whilst the children sleep. North Wales is not just for families though, with stunning scenery, North Wales is equally suited for romantic breaks. Llandudno is 5 miles. Conwy is the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park with Mount Snowdon to climb.
Conwy, formerly known as Conway, attracts numerous tourists year-round for self catering cottage holidays. Conwy has numerous attractions, which should keep everyone entertained during their stay, be it adults or children. The most prominent attraction of this town is Conwy Castle, which is a World Heritage Site. This medieval castle was built for Edward I during the 13th century.

"Gem of a holiday cottage"
We stayed in Millgate Cottage for a short break in February. The first thing to stress is that the owner went out of his way to ensure we had the perfect stay. There were flowers and chocolates and lo… More
