About this location

The Yorkshire region

As Cononley is situated at the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales there are a variety of picturesque Towns and Villages within a short distance and a stunning National Park on our doorstep.

The area offers everything you could want from a holiday from people of all ages. The only thing we don't offer on our doorstep is a hectic nightlife but Bradford and Leeds are only half an hour on the train so the City is close enough for those who want it! However, please note that our Cottage is not a party house. We live next door so we are your neighbours as well as 8 other surrounding properties. We therefore insist that you are respectful of our neighbours and as such keep noise levels to a minimum from 10pm-7:30am. The Cottage is detached so you do not have to be particularly careful when inside. I am referring more to when you enter the Cottage and whilst you use the patio. Thank you for your co-operation regarding this.

"Comfortable accommodation in a good location for discovering the southern Yorkshire Dales and surroundings"

Gemma was a friendly, helpful host, dealing promptly with any queries both before and during our stay.
The property which is next to the owner's is modern and well equipped, and views of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed from upstairs and outside, both to the front and rear of the property. Its location provides easy access to major roads leading west, south and east, as well as to roads leading into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales to the north.
There were six of us staying, so two of us had to sleep downstairs where there is a sofa-bed in the living area. This did not pose a problem, although the dining table needs to be moved to the side of the room when the sofa-bed is opened up. Bedding and two towels per person are provided by Gemma.
It was useful having some basic supplies provided in the cupboards for the start of our stay and Gemma left us a small chocolate selection pack as we stayed over the Christmas/New Year holiday period!
The free wifi was useful and worked well.
We enjoyed a meal in the local village pub - the food was excellent and reasonably priced, and the locals were very welcoming.
Supermarkets are located in nearby Skipton, as well as Crosshills, and there is a small village shop and post office in Cononley itself.
Over all, I would recommend this holiday cottage if you are interested in exploring the many attractions this area has to offer, as it is served by a good road network and by a frequent rail service. If you are intending to spend most of your time in the Yorkshire Dales, then you may do better to consider renting a property in the Dales themselves.

"Very happy with friendly owner, standards displayed, and amenities offered"

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already enquired about staying again next year. We were very pleasantly surprised with the great standards displayed in the design of this modern accommodation and with the facilities provided. There is onsite parking and a small patio area with table & chairs. Bedding & towels are included. There are 2 bathrooms 1 upstairs & 1 downstairs, with TV's in both bedrooms. Central heating is also included in the price. Gemma the owner is very pleasant and approachable and strives to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at High view, a modern, well equipped and spotlessly clean cottage.
We found the second shower room downstairs particularly useful, the cottage also has a good wifi connection and the TVs in both bedrooms is a nice bonus.

Gemma, the owner is very pleasant and helpful and made the whole process very easy.

I would highly recommend High View to anyone visiting the area and hope to return again soon.

"Warm welcome, wonderful cottage, wicked views!"

We returned to High View for a second visit and were delighted to find it just as pleasurable as the first time. The accomodation is great with everything you could need and very comfortable beds. Gemma was very welcoming and even invited us to the local Halloween party to the delight of our children. This time we visited Skipton and Leeds using the very convenient local train service which is only a short walk from the cottage, and also made use of the excellent pub and play park in the village. Despite this being a return visit we still feel we would like to visit again and enjoy some of the walks and footpaths nearby. Definately worth a visit, many thanks again Gemma!

"modern living space and immaculately clean"

Had an enjoyable long weekend break. .
Welcomed by Gemma , who said we only had to ask if we needed anything.
Their house was next door which is convenient if need be
But to be honest there was nothing we needed.
The area is a lovely little village with a convenient train station which accesses a lot of areas around
Cant fault it

"Great place"

High view is a very nice place. Much better than staying in a hotel. Clean and comfortable. Great scenery around and the weather was good also. Could not have asked for more. Thanks Gemma.

"Spotless stylish accommodation"

Such a friendly welcome from Gemma.
We felt very much at home at Highview.
The beds were super comfortable and the peace and quiet meant we slept well.
