Whilst the accommodation is ideal for a family holiday, it would also be very suitable for three couples as each of the bedrooms can offer a double bed . . . no one has to pull the short straw for the twin bedded room!!
Parking is available right outside on the driveway, and immediate access can be gained to a large variety of short strolls or spectacular hikes.

The Coniston area
Coniston is located right in the heart of the stunning National Park. A small town set on the edge of the lake it makes a fantastic base from which to explore the various corners of the Lake District. Locally there are plenty of activities such as walking, hiking, horse riding, cycling, boating, sailing to name but a few. For those who are seeking some history and culture a short journey will take you to Brantwood, the former home of the author John Ruskin, or Dove Cottage, once the residence of Beatrix Potter. Coniston village has a good selection of shops, coffee shops, pubs serving food and other amenities. Nearby villages and towns to explore include Grassington, Hawkshead, Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick.

Cottage was much bigger than expected. Has everything we could need. Bottle of wine, milk, and logs for the fire were awaiting us which was a nice treat. The cottage itself was beautiful and its location was ideal for walking into town to shop, or eat. Also close to several walking trails. Driveway is a tight fit and having to strip all of the beds before we left was a bit over the top. Overall despite this the cottage was a wonderful weekend retreat.

Lovely old cottage close to the lake and village centre.
No TV which was disappointing for the children after a long walk.
