The bedroom is magnificent and inviting with king size four poster Queen Anne bed and beautifully carved solid mahogany furniture. Long morning lie-ins are a real pleasure with luxurious fabrics and sumptious bedding, making this bedroom so cosy and snug that you won't want to leave.

Browse the shelves of books, films, and games in the spacious living room and sink into the extravagant sofa or curl up on the plush armchair to escape from the bustle of everyday life. The large dining table and the well-equipped modern kitchen complete with cookery books will bring out the chef in you, and you can always snack at the breakfast bar when you don't feel like setting the table!

The lavish bathroom offers a deep twin-ended bath for that long relaxing soak after a long day exploring this most beautiful part of the Lakes, and a separate rainforest shower cubical for a refreshing start to the day.

The Cumbria/Lake District

Spectacular mountain ranges nearby include the imposing Old Man of Coniston, Scafell and Helvellyn whilst there are numerous nearby lower level walks around Stocks Grange, Torver and Coniston

Coniston

Spark Bridge is a small country hamlet in the Lake District near Coniston. Stocks Grange lies outside of the centre of Spark Bridge, along a half-mile drive which sweeps alongside five acres of lanscaped gardens. It feels special and secluded but is only a couple minutes drive to the nearest petrol station and 5 minutes drive to the supermarket. The local pub is just a mile away and the nearest shops and post office are also a mile away.

This area is rich in scenery and wildlife, and you will feel transported to a world of relaxation.

From Stocks Grange it is easy to get to either Coniston or Windermere, making this location a great base for exploring the Lakes.

Surrounded by mountains and with views down to the coastline, this breathtaking area offers plenty of walks, bike rides and exploration from the door.

"Outstanding accommodation - the owners have thought of everything"

We spent a perfect week in October at Stocks Grange and we would like to thank Katherine and Neil for providing such well thought out and high quality accommodation.

Stocks Grange is decorated beautifully and is so clean and well-maintained that if it wasn't for the guestbook full of complimentary comments we might have felt like the first people to have stayed there. The design is very well thought out for holiday-makers and it is equipped and furnished to a very high standard. The apartment is in the most beautiful grounds which we explored on days when we didn't feel like travelling far. There is a patio with comfortable furniture which we made the most of.

"A home away from home"

We had a great week at Stocks Grange, which is in a stunning quiet location. Despite being off the beaten track, it was easy to find and is an ideal base for a holiday in the Lake District. The apartment itself was spotless, charming and very well equipped, the owners having clearly thought of everything!. Katherine was very helpful in giving advice on the local area and eating places that could cope with gluten free! The whole experience was first class and we would not hesitate to go back.
