The Duddon Valley region
A 10 minute drive/Bus ride or a 45 minute off road walk from Coniston our nearest village. Coniston boasts several pubs, shops and cafe's. Coniston 'Boating Centre' gives you easy access to water activities on the lake. Home of the Ruskin Museum, the famous 'Bluebird Bitter', Farms belonging to Beatrix Potter and several other attractions it opens up the road to the rest of the Lakes.
Just 15 minutes from Ambleside/Windermere and 20 minutes from Bowness there is easy access to all manners of gentle (and more adventurous) walks and activities. For those not into the great outdoors we have spectacular scenery, museums, shopping and many more things to do.
We hope you will come and visit us to find out more!
Nestled at the foot of 'The Old Man', Torver is a small community led, hamlet quiet but vibrant at the same time. On a bus route, it is perfect for a base from which to explore. We are off the rat run of the Tourist traps but close enough to be on the door of the main tourist attractions.
We are only 15 minutes walk from the lake and 2 minutes from the Cumbrian Way. There is easy access to the fells perfect for the walkers. We are also 5 minutes from Horse Riding Centres and can arrange to have you picked up to take on a range of activities from gorge scrambling to Kayaking.
