Beautifully furnished Somerset country cottage just completely refurbished offering lovely group accommodation for your holiday or short break. This former Cider House is over 200 years old and has all the olde worlde charm of a bygone era with the owners bringing it right up to date to make it a truly comfortable and luxurious holiday home. Period features a brimming throughout; heavily beamed rooms are a good size with the main sitting room being on two levels offering seating both grouped around the log burning stove with the lower area as a TV/snug -just what you would expect from an English country holiday cottage. The extended mature gardens are a treat with dramatic country side views across the Mendip hills, quite simply the perfect place to enjoy a summer time BBQ and a glass of wine. Both the wonderful beaches of North Somerset and Cheddar Gorge are within 5 miles offering the best of both worlds and the elegant spa town of Bath is within 45 minutes.

Arms Cottage is right on the edge of the village of Langford with its excellent

pub. There is a highly regarded restaurant within easy walk from the cottage

and a drive or stroll through charming countryside or along a river bank will

get you to Wrington or Congresbury Village pubs within 3 miles. Within a mile

there is a 24 hour local village shop.

No luxury

cottage break at The Gardener’s Arms is complete without a visit to Cheddar

Gorge! Just fifteen minutes drive out, Cheddar Gorge rises to 450ft and spans

three miles long making it the biggest gorge in the UK! There are plenty of

activities to do here, from walking and cycling to the more extreme abseiling,

climbing and adventure caving!

The small

cathedral city of Wells is around thirty minutes drive from your holiday

cottage location – explore its fascinating medieval past and the unspoilt 13th

Century cathedral in the heart of the city. Wells also has a bustling market

put on twice a week – perfect for picking up a bargain or two on your stay.

Glastonbury

is a little further afield, and apart from being famous for its’ festival each

year, is a lovely bustling town with plenty to see and do. The ancient ruins of

Glastonbury Abbey was once one of the largest and richest Abbeys in England!

Take the time to stroll across the 36 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens

surrounding the ruins – in bloom the entire year round.

Just outside

the town lies Glastonbury Tor; climb to the top of the hill and visit St

Michaels Tower whilst enjoying the most spectacular views over the Somerset

Levels. On a clear day you can see the neighbouring counties of Dorset to the

south and Wiltshire to the east.

If a bucket

and spade holiday is more what you’re looking for, the beautiful sandy beaches

at Weston - super – Mare and Burnham on sea are easily accessible being less

than thirty minutes away.

Don’t forget

to visit the cosmopolitan city of Bristol on your holiday cottage stay! A

fascinating blend of the contemporary and old, Bristol is famous for its

connections to one of the greatest engineers of the Industrial Revolution;

Isambard Kingdom Brunel, his SS Great Britain and the famous Clifton Suspension

Bridge.

Further

afield, the royal spa city of Bath is set on a UNESCO World Heritage Site and

has some of the most stunning architecture in the whole of Europe. Just over 45

minutes from The Gardeners Arms cottage, enjoy a relaxing day at the Bath

Thermae Spa – home to the only hot springs in the UK!

For some

retail therapy Bath has SIX shopping areas! From galleries, independent

boutiques to high street chains and designer shops, Bath really does have it

all. As well as plenty of museums, gardens and architecture to explore (don’t

pass up a trip to the Royal Crescent!) Bath makes for a great day out on your

holiday cottage break.

For golf, the

Mendip Spring Golf and Country Club is literally a five minutes’ drive away and

is set within 200 acres and has stunning views of the Mendip Hills.

Puxton Park children’s

farm and park one of Somerset’s great visitor attractions with indoor play barn

and Pet’s Village.
