About the home

Your holiday accommodation is an ancient French farmhouse, parts of which date from before Napoleon. We extended the original house into the old farm building to create a spacious, modern home whilst keeping most of the character features. This provides bright and airy accommodation, unlike many old French Farmhouses.

Kitchen: Fully equipped with Dishwasher, Fridge freezer, Microwave, Cooker, Toaster and Washing Machine.

Bedrooms: 4 Double bedrooms (two double, two twin), one with en-suite, with a family bathroom on the first floor. Babies Cot and Sofa bed.

Lounge: Large TV with English channels, DVD player, 2nd TV with Xbox, and a football table. There is a large selection of DVD’s and books. There is also lots of seating, for you to relax and look out over the rear garden, with views out to the rolling farmland.
With 3 bikes and fishing tackle included, miles of quiet country lanes to walk in the property is a great base to explore the area. The cities of Limoges and Angloueme are both less than an hour as are numerous beaches on the many large leisure lakes in the area.
The lake is lightly fished and represents a real chance of a 20lb Carp or numerous Roach, Bream or Tench. It is also a lovely spot just to sit and watch the Coypu, Red Squirrels or birdlife and if you are really quiet a deer.

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente region

The Charente is the second sunniest area of France. We are on the Charente/ Haute Vienne border which is an area of rolling countryside and quaint french villages and lakes, but within easy reach of Limoges which is famous for it's porcelain and just over an hour south of Futuroscope which is near Poitiers. The area is also known as the "French lake district" some of the lakes having beaches where the locals can build their sand castles. maybe they do sand chateaux?
There are miles of quiet roads and lanes for walking or cycling where 2 cars are regarded as a convoy.

The Confolens area

Music Festival in Confolens in August.
Limoges is famous for porcelain and there are many retail outlets as well as all the facilities you expect in a city.
The local town of St Junien has a selection of supermarkets and other shops along with a cinema, sports centre, swimming pool and Golf Course.
Confolens is on the confluence of the rivers Vienne and Gore which is particually picturesque.
Both St.Junien and Confolens have a range of restaurants to suit all tastes. the Chinese in St Junien and the Chip Shop in Confolens both being particually good
