Appartamento Vaniglia C is a pleasant and spacious attic located on a hillside, facing the sea. It sleeps four people. From Appartamento Vaniglia C you will enjoy a wonderful view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi. Appartamento Vaniglia C is 60 square meters (645 square feet). It features a nice private terrace with a view of the sea, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed) and winter heating.

You will be at a short distance from the center of Conca dei Marini, where you will find the shops and public transportation. You will find the closest restaurant at 400 meters (440 yards), a grocery store at 200 meters (220 feet) and the closest beach at 1.5 km (roughly 1 mile).

Appartamento Vaniglia C is located on the attic level of an ancient villa. You will reach it from the parking area along a short public walkway that includes a spiral staircase and includes approximately 60 stairway steps.

To stay at Appartamento Vaniglia C you will need a car. You will be able to park it along the public roads (the actual distance might vary depending on the availability of parking spaces) or in a public parking lot (being the lot a public one, parking spaces can not be reserved).

The furnishings are cozy and comfortable, and include some antique pieces. The furnishings include a small sofa. In the living room you will also find a cooking area. The kitchenette is equipped with a four-burner gas cooker, a refrigerator with freezer, a microwave oven and an Italian-style coffee-maker. The dining table can accommodate four guests. In this room you will find a small television. The room has a roof window with a view of the sea and of the island of Li Galli. It is equipped with an air conditioning/heating unit.

Bedroom 1

You will be able to enter the first bedroom from the living room. The ceiling is sloping, has characteristic exposed wood beams and has an height of 1.50 meters (5 feet) at its lowest point. The room has a matrimonial bed (160 cm/62 inches, wider than a queen-size bed). The room has a roof window with a view of the sea and of the coastline.

Bedroom 2

You will be able to enter the second bedroom from the living room. The ceiling is sloping, has characteristic exposed wood beams and has an height of 1.50 meters (5 feet) at its lowest point. It has a twin bed (80 cm/32 inches). An additional a single trundle bed is available (if requested in advance) to make it a double. The room has a roof window with a view of the vegetation and of the hills.

Bathroom

The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower and a hairdryer. Here you will also find a washing machine and an iron. You will be able to enter the bathroom from the living room.

The Amalfi Coast region

If you think you have no idea of where Campania is, think again. This fascinating land, rich in gulfs, islands and legendary places, is home to the charming landscapes of the Amalfi Coast, Sorrento, the Cilento National Park, Capri and Ischia.

The Campania region is situated in the South of Italy and bounded by the Tyrrhenian Sea (that’s the name of that stretch of Mediterranean). If you are fond of archeology, architecture, or simply want to see history come back to life, Campania is a must. The archeological heritage is huge: the temples left by the Greeks in Paestum, the buried towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum, the remains of Velia, the masterpieces kept in the museums, the churches… and, of course!, the Royal Palace of Caserta, built to be the most sumptuous palace of Europe, with its 1200 rooms.

If the majesty you prefer is the majesty of nature, Campania will not disappoint you. The sandy beaches and the crystal-clear waters of the Cilento National Park, the amazing scenery of the Amalfi Coast, the islands of the Gulf of Naples are just a sampler of what lies ahead of you. From the underground depths of the caves of Pertosa to the heights of Mount Vesuvius, there is something for everyone. By the way, being Mount Vesuvius an active volcano, we respectfully suggest you visit sooner rather than later.

An outline of Campania would not be complete without a mention of its culinary tradition. Many of the world-known Italian dishes have their roots in Campania: pizza, spaghetti, mozzarella, limoncello, cannelloni… Italians know Campania well for being one of the regions that offer the best food, and definitely the region where you can taste the best coffee. Espresso, cappuccino and now interesting variations on the theme such as hazelnut coffee make the day of the residents of Campania, and will make yours as well.

Conca dei Marini

Conca dei Marini, pearl of Amalfi Coast where, amongst scented lemon orchards and flamboyant flowers, sea legends rest...

Less titled than the close Amalfi, Ravello and Positano, the village has impeccably preserved the old charm of fishing village, with isolated white houses set into the rock, like precious stones.

Dark green of a prosperous and thick vegetation, spotted here and there by the bright yellow of the splendid lemons of the Coast: these are the dominant colours of the area, wholly enjoyable from the stunning panoramas.

The village expands itself all along a small bay, overlooking the so-called Torre Saracena - Saracen Tower - a guard tower built in 1563 with defensive purposes: to prevent probable Saracen pirates' invasions.

The popularity of Conca dei Marini is due to the presence of Grotta dello Smeraldo... a marvellous karst cavity, one of the most famous in the world! Officially discovered by a local fisherman, Luigi Buonocore, in 1932, but actually renowned from the XX century. The name derives from the several shades of emerald green that colour the water: phenomenon caused by a submarine fissure that filter the sunlight.

A long time ago the Grotta was situated above the sea level and abundant karstification processes formed numerous stalagmites, sometimes united to from huge columns, 10 metres high. A bradyseism phenomenon let down the cave's floor and the Grotta sank into the water. A rare species of Cnidaria (Anemonactis mazely) live under the cave.
