About the home

A peaceful, luxurious house offering accommodation to an exceptional level,amongst stunning mountain scenery.
The bright open-plan living area has double doors leading to the covered balcony where one can relax with a drink, taking in views of vineyards,olive and almond groves. Even the Rif mountains in Africa can be seen at dawn and dusk!
The goatherd passes now and again within metres of the villa -tending his flock.
The wildboar are also seen in the evening amongst the oak trees. This is the real Spain!

Long walks into the spectacular Park(100m away),will take you to the pretty, white villages dating back to the Moors , or up into the high mountains,beyond the treeline. Just as beautiful during the winter, as the summer.
The track into the Park leads to La Moroma (6800ft),great for hiking,rambling or strolling beside the orange groves and river to the tiny village of Salares.

The pool( illuminated at night) and terraces around the villa offer more areas for outdoor living, into the long summer evenings. There is an undercover area,shaded from the sun, for eating too.

Stay in contact with friends and family as we offer Wifi at no extra cost to our guests.
Solar panels provide all the hot water.

Only 30 mins drive to the coast takes you to the beaches and golf courses.
2 hrs drive will take you to the Sierra nevada for winter skiing

Facilities

Further details indoors:
The bright,main living space has large comfortable settees, selection of books,TV,DVD, etc
The fully fitted kitchen is separated from the dining area by an American bar. The spanish,marble dining table seats six.
The 2 double bedrooms have mosquito blinds on the windows and large wardrobes.
The family bathroom has a bidet and bath with shower.
(Only this part of the house is let in winter-4 guests being the maxm.number at that time)
The third double bedroom is downstairs,where there is also a summer kitchen,(all electric) 2 comfy settees, table and chairs for 2 diners,and a further bathroom(as before)
This arrangement could allow a 2-family rental to have their own space,should they wish, as the the upstairs and downstairs have almost the same facilities.but the house is let as a whole during the summer(ie 6 guests)

The lower door here, leads to the terrace beside the pool- a dining area in the shade if needed!

Further details outdoors:
The various covered terraces and patios around the house and the south facing pool allows guests to choose areas of sunshine or shade throughout the day.
The rear terrace has sunshine up to 9.00pm in the summer and is a great area for an evening read after a strenuous day's golf or treck.
There are a variety of tables and chairs for al fresco dining, a BBQ and for sunbathing, 6 recliners, a swing seat and a permanent table to seat 4 by the pool
The unusually shaped pool is surrounded by a natural stone terrace, raised flowerbeds and mature plants
The pool shallow end is 1metre deep so any children must be supervised at all times.(Pool only available May to October and remains covered at other times)
There is outdoor lighting around the pool and under the pergola for an evening meal.
Gates to the drive can be locked and the gravelled area at the front of the house provides secure parking for 2 cars.

Rental for 4 persons assumes use of 2 bedrooms, and for 6, 3 bedrooms.
If an additional bedroom is needed for 4 persons, there will be an extra charge of £50.00.

Arrival dates can be any day of the week, subject to availability.

Double/single bed arrangements can be altered to suit your needs.

The pool is covered from November until April (inclusive), and not used..

As with all tiled areas, some of the terraces are slippery if wet-precautions should be taken.

Those with children should be aware that the wall surrounding the main pool terrace is only 60-70 cms high and should NOT be used as a seat. as there is a danger of a fall over the other side!

Conditions

1) 25% deposit to secure booking and balance 8 weeks prior to arrival
2) £150.00 security bond required ,refunded after satisfactory inspection by the owner's rep., max. 2weeks after end of rental period
3) If gas Central Heating is used, a charge of 12 euros a day will be made and payable locally.
4)There are many hard-standing areas,steps and an unfenced pool; the owners ask that for the safety of children staying at the villa, CHILDREN BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES, by responsible adults

The Andalucia / Malaga Province region

This area is renowned to have the best sunshine record in Europe
The villa is 5 minutes walk from the Sierra Tejeda Parc Natural-the tracks take you into the mountains where there are Andalucian ponies, wild boar and ibex (rare). A real country retreat.
Stunning views over the hills to the Mediterranean.
.
Good centre for a trekking holiday, horseriding, sketching and photography.

Malaga City is 45 minutes away,with museums,galleries and fabulous shops. The Roman amphitheatre and the Generalife with stunning gardens are well worth visiting.

2 hrs drive can take you to Granada to visit the Alhambra and the Nasrid palaces and skiing in the winter.
Seville and Cordoba are also 2 hrs drive distance.

Marbella and Puerto Banus are places to 'people watch' amongst their yachts, and Gibraltar is further west which could be a day trip.

The Competa / Canillas de Albaida area

Local shopping in Canillas is 4km away; many excellent bars and restaurants in Archez, Competa, and in the sleepy towns of Salares and Sedella.-all within 15minutes drive.
Every town has a market --choose one for each day of the week!
The large shopping complexes are within 30 mins drive-cinema too.

More exciting nightlife can be found in Nerja or Torre del Mar, only 30-40 minutes away. Nerja also have the biggest underground caves in Europe only discovered in the 1960s!

Plane to Malaga via bmi baby, easy jet, BA etc.
Malaga airport has all the usual car-hire firms most of which are accessed from within the airport building.
Detailed directions to a meeting point near the villa are provided, so that our english rep can take you to the door!
Car hire is recommended to enjoy this holiday to the full, as the house is in the countryside,the last 1km via country lanes.
Our guests have used Centuro,who pick up at the airport and drive you and your luggage to their office near the motorway, ready for your ongoing journey. No queueing at airport!

“peaceful location in the hills with stunning views” The villa was magnificent as you can see from the photos on the web site. It has a balcony looking over the hills where you can eat when it's too cold outside and listen to the cicadas and watch the stars at night. Stunning sun rises and sun sets. It is very peaceful and there are lots of walks in the National Park up the track. The lounge area is very comfortable and there are books and games provided if the weather is bad.

We have booked for the 3rd year running..beautiful position....plenty of space inside and out with all the facilities you could want.
