The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
With almost all year round sunshine and a wonderful coast line this area of Spain has it all. With mountains and spectacular beaches there is something for everyone of all ages. The city of Malaga offers old churches, parks and museums the most well known being Picasso. Marbella old town offers wonderful shopping whilst the buzzing port of Puerto Banus is a people watchers paradise with the rich and famous being frequent visitors in their incredible yachts. In the mountains you will find the typical Andalucian white washed villages where you can experience the true and typical Spanish lifestyle and wonderful cuisine.
Competa / Canillas de Albaida area
Surrounded by the white washed villages of Torrox, Sayalonga, Frigiliana, Archez, Canillas de Albaida is described as the pearl of the Axarquia. Pony trecking, off-road motorbiking, walking and painting, mountain biking are all available within the local area. If you prefer, you can just while away your time in one of the many bars and restaurants to be found in the beautiful village squares.
Villa Maroma is situated on the east side of Malaga. 30 mins. drive inland from the costal resort of Torre del Mar. Although in a rural situation the villa is only a 4 minute drive to the nearest village Canillas del Albaida, a small white washed village filled with colour. At the foot hills of the Sirra Almijara a very beautiful spot with the views at the rear of the villa over the mountains a sheer delight. From the front of the villa the scenery takes in views of vineyards and olive groves, a painters paradise.
How to get there
Easy Jet, Fly Be, British Airways and Thompson Fly and the majority of the budget airlines fly into Malaga Airport. A good local car hire company is Autos Lido based at Malaga Airport plus all the usual car hire companies.

Further details indoors: Built in the rustic style, Villa Maroma is an absolute delight. On entering the property there is an open-plan living area with log burning fire which leads through to the compact kitchen area. With the master bedroom being downstairs complete with it's own en-suite bathroom it is an ideal property for more frail guests. In keeping with the rustic style the property has been furnished sympathetically and wooden stairs lead to the galleried bedroom containing two single beds. The sofa in the lounge turns into a double bed and there is a further single bed neatly tucked away in a purpose made cupboard. Off the lounge is a further shower room with toilet, again ideal for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.
Further details outdoors: The garden is an absolute delight with many mature trees and plants. A kidney shaped swimming pool, a utility room and a brick built barbeque. Ranch style fencing. The 800 square metre plot is fully fenced and gated with private parking which is ideal if you have children in your party. The views from the property are incredible with mountains to the rear of the villa and looking down to the valley below from the front of the property. At night the lights of other villas in the distance twinkle below the sky also making this an extremely romatic get away location. This is a very private property.
