The Andalucia region
With one of the best climates in Europe, 320 days of sunshine and mild winters you could be forgiven for having no other reason than this for coming here. If however you are feeling a little adventurous this region offers many great places to visit.
With the new coastal motorway a short 2 hour drive away could have you Skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Marvelling at the moorish architecture of the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Crossing the straights to Gibraltar, On a ferry from Algeciras to Morocco or standing in the middle of one of Spains oldest bull rings in Ronda. A little closer to home is the Pablo Picasso Museum in Malaga. The possibilities are endless.
The villa is just a 5 minute drive from Competa. This village is, 650 metres above sea level and 18 kilometres from the coast, and is one of the loveliest in the Axarquia region. With a population of over 3,500, it is slightly larger than the neighbouring villages; a bustling and attractive town. Though Cómpeta has many modern facilities it remains a rural Spanish village: local farmers still set out early each morning to tend the olive, almond and tropical fruit groves, as well as the vineyards that produce the well known Cómpeta wine. This harvest is celebrated every August in the Noche del Vino with singing, dancing and plenty of food and drink.
Competa has many bars and the restaurants offering typically Spanish dishes as well as good quality international cuisine. There are a number of banks, supermarkets, chemists, tour operator and gift shops and a small market is held every Saturday morning.
Such is the natural beauty and importance of the surrounding area it has been designated a National Park. With some of the best walks in Europe there are routes for all abilities and local guides can be found in the village. Cycling;horse riding and pony treking are also available. For those who like their fun at a slightly quicker pace quad and motor cross biking is also available.
The busy resort of Nerja is aproximately 30 minutes down to the coast with all the shopping, bars and restaurants you could wish for.Fantastic sandy beaches, water sports and a large street market every Tuesday as well as the amazing Caves of Nerja are even more reason to give this lively town a visit.
Torrox costa offers a slower pace of beach life with little tavernas on the beach and with many larger supermarkets it is a good place to stock up with drinks and supplies. Velez Malaga with its fort standing on the hill looks down over Torre Del Mar with an 18 hole golf course, Aquavelis water park, and large hypermarket .An exstensive promade allows you to walk the entire length of beach front with shaded areas to stop and sit at long the way.

"Perfect in every way"
The owners were very friendly and helpful via phone and email for all enquiries before our trip.
On arrival, our contact was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We met at a lovely bar/restaurant where the host was very friendly too.
Finca feliz is a lovely, spacious property. It's furnished well and is very comfortable to stay in. The area is extremely peaceful with the most fantastic view of surrounding mountainous countryside and Mediterranean Sea.
The pool is great, a good size to have a dip in when the heat from the sun gets too intense. A perfect area for the BBQ too, and complete with an outside cool box for those essential beers and soft drinks!
The house kitchen was spacious and had all we needed to make a few meals when deciding not to go out.
The wifi was ok, it was extra but cheap. The speed was good, but reception better when near the router.
Competa was a lovely town about 10min drive away, the people very friendly.
I would definitely recommend this property for a lovely holiday. I would love to visit again sometime very soon.

"Beautiful Villa - Great Location"
The Villa is nestled in the beautiful mountains of the Costa Del Sol. We found it was a great location for trips to the coast, nearby towns and cities.
The villa was beautiful - well equipped and spacious. We had a couple of lovely relaxing days around the pool area. When we ventured out we visited the seaside towns up and down the coast and Granada - which was well worth a visit! Nearby Competa was a lovely little town and we ate out here a few times.
Great directions to the property from the airport - straight to it via the supermarket to stock up for the week. We were met by Carl and Jenny, who took us the final kilometer or so and showed us around and then were on hand for the rest of the week for any questions - Thank You!

"Lovely villa in a great location"
My girlfriend and I have just come back from staying at this villa and we had the most perfect time. The villa is really spacious but still has that homely feel to it although it was probably a bit too big for a couple. The pool had been really well maintained and we enjoyed some stunning views of the mountains. Hiring a car is essential as the villa is in a remote location which is perfect if you're looking for a quiet getaway. We hired the cheapest car we could which ended up being a 1ltr hatchback and it was perfect for getting us around. We would recommend staying at this villa to anyone it's a lovely villa in a great location.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. best wishes Mark and Sue

"fantastic vacation highly recommended"
the villa was beautiful the photos did not do it justice, we had a wonderful time all being together, thank you mark and sue. the scenery was breath taking and it was very quiet there, the directions were very easy to follow, we did not feel the need for 4x4 vehicles we hired small cars not a problem. we would highly recommend this villa to everyone

The location of the finca wasn't make clear. When we arrived we found that the last 2 Km of the road was in fact a dirt track which was full of pot holes.
No one would wish to drive this road in the dark as there was a risk of running of the road and tumboling down the mountain side.
We have great difficulty in finding the location as there was insufficiant signage.
We would recommend that when hiring a car that you hire a 4X4 car.
In part this review is correct. The villa is located 1.8 km along a track off the main Torrox to Competa road. We have only ever hired the smallest cars when we go to the villa and this is all we advise our guests to hire. Apart from in the winter after heavy rain the track is always in good condition and aproximately half of it is concreted.
We did have a slight issue with these guests, so maybe this is part of the reason why they left a poor review. You only need to look at the photo's to see how lovely the villa is,and I can assure you there is no need for a 4x4.
