About the home

3 bedroom villa set around enclosed courtyard with a saltwater pool, making it ideal for children. There is also a roof top terrace and additional garden terraces giving excellent opportunities to enjoy relaxing and eating outside.

Very spacious villa, with a fabulous circular sunken lounge focused around a wood burning stove, plus separate seating and dining areas. Open plan kitchen. The main bedroom has an ensuite jacuzzi bathroom, plus direct access out into the courtyard. Two additional bedrooms and shower room.

Located just minutes away from the lovely village of Sedella, where there are several bars/restaurants and a couple of small supermarkets, with easy access also to Canillas de Aceituno, Competa and the other villages in the Axarquia region. Ideal for walking, cycling, bird watching but also only a few miles from the sea.

The villa is set around an enclosed courtyard, which includes a salt water pool and spiral staircase access to the roof top terrace. This terrace has the best views of the whole property and the stunning sunsets can be enjoyed from here.

The living areas are open plan. The lounge includes a circular sunken area which includes TV with freeview UK satellite and video with a large collection of videos. There is also a wood buring stove which is the focus of the room and ideal for the evenings in the cooler months. There is a separate large dining area, adjacent to the kitchen.

The main bedroom has airconditioning/heating and a super king sized bed. There is also an ensuite bathroom with jacuzzi bath. The second bedroom has a king sized bed, and the third a futon style double bed. All rooms have built in pine wardrobes giving plenty of storage space.

Conditions

Strictly no smoking except outside.

Refundable breakages deposit of 100 euros required on arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

25% of rental fee as non refundable deposit to be make at time of booking. Balance of payment is due four weeks before commencement of the booking.

The Andalucia / Malaga Province region

The region of Andalucia lies in the the south of Spain, and its coasts are bathed by both the Mediterranean and Atlantic oceans. It borders Extremadura and Castile-La Mancha in the north, Murcia and the Mediterranean Sea in the east, the Mediterranean and Atlantic ocean in the south, and Portugal in the west.

The climate is dominated by a Mediterranean climate. The summers in Andalucia are very hot while the winters are short. The rainfall except in autumn is low.

It is easy for day trips to Granada, Seville, and Gibraltar, whist the lovely town of Nerja is only an hour away. Venture into Malaga itself and you'll find Roman and earlier remains, and the Picasso foundation. There is the beach and waterpark at Torre del Mar...there's so much locally, you'll never want to go anywhere else!

The Competa / Sedella area

Sedella is one of the 31 towns and villages that make up the Ruta Mudejar, in the Axarquia. Sedella is a typical Moorish town, filled with examples of Mudejar architecture, with narrow and winding streets that carry the stamp of the Moorish village. Its altitude provides wonderful views over the beautiful countryside around the village, and from here one can see the Sierra Tejeda Mountains, the Mountains of Bentomiz and one clear days, the Atlas Mountains across the Mediterranean. It is a peaceful place, far from the hustle and bustle of the cities and bigger towns, and ideal for a country rest. The history of Sedella goes back to pre-historic times and the origin of the town's name comes from the Latin "sedilia", which means "emplacement or rural possession."

The most popular festival in Sedella is the Festival of San Anton, the patron saint of the animals, whose feast-day falls on January 17th, although the festival is celebrated on the Saturday nearest to this date. It begins with mass, and following the blessing of the horses, the procession begins. Until quite recently, the pig of San Anton was brought through the streets in procession. The Day of Nuestra Senora de la Esperanza takes place during the first fortnight in August. Another important festival date in Sedella is Corpus Christi, and as in all of Andalucia, Holy Week is a festival that draws crowds from far and near.
