Be in your own world and unwind! Real getaway from it all location... Enjoy our renovated casa with a quirky and fun interior, bundles of character. Great for couples or families. Very very very relaxing and peaceful, lucky if you see a donkey go by, yet close to the village of Arenas where there is a bank, shops and a medical centre, and the location is close to seaside resorts and local town of Velez Malaga. Great panaramic views with a very distance sea view. Spacious and private. Internet connecton & TV, Wood Burner for cooler months. Totally chilled out environment. Well thought out to really enjoy the outside space. You will feel like you are in your own little haven. The pool and spacious surrounding area is not overlooked by anyone. Great for Walkers, loads of routes locally.

Great outdoor space, identifying different areas. Great for al fresco eating and drinking.... totally chill out. Lovely swimming pool and beautiful views around of the mountains, and very very distant sea views. There are fans available to cool the interior of the property should this be required. There are very very distant sea views.

The Andalucia region

This sun-soaked stretch of the spanish coastline is in the Province of Maslaga, bordering on the provinces of Seville, Cordoba and Granada all of which are steeped in history. The location of our property nestles in the foothills of the Sierra de Tejeda under the gaze of Mount Moroma where many white villages have been shaped by their Moorish past. Our finca is in a network of Roman roads that criss-cross this area of rural Spain allowing you to feel part of its history. Discover some magic a the Alhambra in Granada or visit the sensual city of Seville, or gaze into the stunning gorge of Ronda, or take a look in on the famous rock apes of Gibralter...or...just chill out and enjoy the ambiance of the Andalucian mountains.

Competa

The finca is located in rural Andalucia and approached from the main Velez Malaga road, than a drive on the old Roman road network which are driveable in normal hire cars but having a bigger engine is a better option especially in low season, the roads are regularly graded but sometimes weather does dictate the condition. The location is getaway from it all, A joy for walkers, artists, or bird watchers, mountain bikers or for those who just want to relax and do nothing more than read a book and enjoy a glass of the local wine. The finca is a 10/15 minute drive to Arenas, Daimilos is closer. In Arenas there is a bank with cashpoint, a supermarket, a chemist (24 hour), shops, bars and restaurants, an Internet facility and a small market on Wednesday. There is a bus service also to and from Velez Malaga on a daily basis from Arenas village. The area of Arenas village is home to the densest population of chameleons in Europe and is the mascot of the village. Arenas village is a meandering maze of streets which retain the magic and atmosphere of old Spain. Residents are warm and friendly. Competa is within 20 minutes drive.

Nearby Velez Malaga is a delightful historical town with ample shops and restaurants and an ecellent open air market on a Thurday. There is also a Water Park open during summer month.

Torre del Mar and Caleta have good clean beaches with plenty of chiringuitos and restaurants. A promenade runs along the Mediterranean coastline from Torre del Mar to Caleta and it is a very pleasant walk or cycle ride. During the summer months there are market stalls, children's fairs and local open air entertainment.

The nearby Caves of Nerja are only 30 minutes away and there are many drives up into the picturesque villages of Compete, Frigliana, Periana and Comares.

"A haven of tranquility"

"Fantastic location, poor cleanliness / upkeep of accommodation :("

An amazing location,idyllic for a quiet getaway ( donkey sounds off on and off during the night,but you get used to it). Requires a 4x4 or bigger car than a Polo sized vehicle due to long dirt track … More

A 4x4 vehicle is not necessary, a car with a bit of oomph is all that is required, we use an elderly Mercedes Sports that goes up and down the track no problem. The cleanliness of the property on this occassion may not have been to the normal high standard as we employed help for the first time and will not use these people again, but clean the property ourselves as is the norm. The dishwasher has been replaced and is in good order, we would have happily addressed this issue and replaced had we been informed during your stay. In order to replace the small tiles on the pool and repaint it will have to be drained of water, in the middle of a season this is not possible but will be addressed as soon as the season comes to an end.

Very pleased you enjoyed your stay and brought up the issues that downgrounded an 'excellent holiday' to a 'good holiday'. Onwards and upwards in maintaining our holiday makers have an 'excellent holiday' enjoying a wonderfully peaceful secluded location in a rustic country property to get away from it all!

Communication if you have a problem is very necessary to us and sooner rather than later ...we had holiday makers report no water as a hose tap had been left on which left water tank dry, they waited over 24 hours to report, if they had reported immediately it would not have resulted in us requiring a new pump and having to bring in water, a costly expense which we pay for, this could have been avoided had they informed us immediately.

Our contact numbers are there for people to use should they have a problem and the sooner a problem or query is reported to us the easier it is resolve.

"Secluded rural house in breathtaking setting"

Traditional Spanish house in gorgeous, away-from-it-all setting. Fabulous pool and garden with mountain vistas all around. Once here, you never want to leave!

"What a location! If you want to relax this is the place!"

This holiday villa was one of the most amazing villas i have ever been to. Sure the villa was a little basic, but what more do you need when you are perched in the mountains with nothing to distract you?

My girlfriend and i had the most perfect time at Casa Vacas. The Villa was cosy, yet bright and welcoming. The pool offers a chance to relax and get away from the heat.

I would suggest doing a BIG shop if you dont want to be travelling down into the town a lot as the drive is pretty long. The road up to the Villa is fine to drive despite some other comments, although i can imagine doing it in the pitch dark is another story. I would heed the advice to hire a better quality car although we had a VW Polo and it coped just fine.

If you want a holiday to escape the stresses of work then i can't recommend this place enough..

I will be returning.

"Beautiful tranquil spot with fantastic views, great for walking."

We have three young boys who loved the pool and the english tv channels for when they needed a bit of shade. We enjoyed the tranquil surroundings and althought the long track was daunting at first, we defeinitely got used to it. A beautiful house, not luxurious but very tastefully decorated.
