About the home

Vuilla Annetta is a wonderful stylish old fashioned villa directly on the waterside, it is surrounded by a pleasant lawn garden furnished with deckchairs, shated sitting and dining area. It belongs to the same family for more than one century and has undergone various renovations. It offers living quarters and kitchen on ground floor, the 4 double bedrooms , two bathrooms are divided over two floors. the villa is accurately furnished with family antiques but the kitchen is ultramodern and fully equipped. At the very end of the garden ( belonging to the same owner) is villa Solinga ( sleeping 9 ) ref nr Holidaylettings 25902, in case your party exceed 10 persons.

You can reach the villa only by foot along a steep 200 m long footpath, so you should be fit. The main road runs higher up through the village. Carparking in the villae, We assist our guests however at arrival and departure with our transport boat for the luggage.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area region

Lake como is at 200 m above sea level, situated at the south side of the alps, it has a temperate climate and is extremely sunny, in winter it hardly rains although we get now and then a minor snow fall and the mountai tops remain white allthrough winter and early springtime.

lake como is an ideal place to pass your holidays: not far from Milan ( trade fairs), Como ( silk industry, and a historical town, with a lively market 3 times a week) surrounding mountains ( for hiking, mountain biking or a leisurely car drive up a panoramic view point), boat trips by public service on the lake ( criscrossing from one village to the other), beautiful villas with parks open to the public ( Carlotta in Tremezzo for its azaleas) ( Balbianello in Lenno ), (Melzi in Bellaggio).

Menaggio, Bellagio, Varenna, all places you have heard of and which you love to visit.

The Como / Pognana Lario area

Pognana is a coastal village which has not very much changed since medieval times. It is built against the mountains, through the village runs the narrow motorway from Como ( 10 km) to Bellagio ( 15 km) ;Lots of mountain footpaths up to the alpine meadows, waterfall in nearby Nesso and Villa Pliniana, or up to some recently discovered prehistoric caves.

At 10km is Como.city, interesting town, already known to the romans and became a strong hold in medieval times, a cross point for trade between Lombardy, todays' Austria and Switzerland.

Why should you not come to lake Como for its food? Good local strong wines ( from vineyards against the sunny mountain slopes in Valtellina) , misoltini ( a sun dried lake fish accompanied by polenta), pizzocheri ( dark grain pasta) , rich cheeses etc.
