The Shepherds Hut is situated in the top field of our lovely little farm, in a secluded paddock with views over our mares, foals and lambs - with visits from ducks, chickens or maybe our peacock! Only two "neighbours" a good distance are Linnet and Skylark Yurts which may also be rented independently or together with the Hut.
A cosy romantic peaceful location for those wanting a different holiday, walking, stargazing in the dark skies, near to wonderful beaches in Devon and Dorset, or maybe just sampling the wonderful local food at River Cottage, Hix restaurant or super local pubs!
Two lovely white shower "stables" with loo and washbasin!! - no compost loos in sight!

Pretty lighting, fitted carpets, full lengh futon sofa bed (complete with white linen,fluffy towels, spa robes and lots of cushions to relax on. storage space, kitchen area with complete set of cutlery, plates, pans etc and a gas stove with oven and two rings. fold down table. TV with DVD. Microwave, fridge freezer nearby with lots of good DVDS and books. Superd mini "pipSqueak" log burner with starter logs provided. More can also be purchased Little electric heater also. Two man tent available on request.
Situated in the corner of the paddock with a separate shower unitwith loo, washbasin and shower, nearby, fully heated (shared with the Yurt couple only). All year round availability and we are happy to accomodate you for one night only if desired..

Access is via a secret woodland path, 50 or so metres from our farm entrance, a gentle stroll up a tiny lane, so that you have no pullution or noise from any vehicles. Sheltered by rustic genuine willow sheep hurdles with BBQ and an outside storage box for logs, boots etc
Wonderful extensive views over our lovely fields and animals with plenty of your own space to enjoy.
Bring your friends and have all 3 glamping experiences, 2 yurts and the Hut ( or even the lodge for 4 Higher Manor Lodge) as well!
Our hut is small and cosy, it isnt a huge living space but it everything one would need. An escape from busy, noisy lifestyles! A wonderful base to explore our exquisite countryside or just stay at home and enjoy. Hire a bicyle locally, take a taxi to wonderful restaurants and pubs and relax.
About this location
The Dorset region
We are situated on the Dorset / Devon border in an area of outstanding natural beauty very close to the Jurassic coast a world heritage site. A soft climate with lovely dark skies to view the stars at night we often have very warm spring and autumns which really extend the holiday season. We are now an area with excellent cuisine, e.g. River Cottage HQ and Canteen, Hix fish restaurant in Lyme Regis and the Wild Garlic masterchef restuarant. Lots of historic houses and sites to visit. Riding, walking, sailing, swimming and country life a real speciality. Best place to throw away the busy life of the cities etc
Honiton Sidmouth, Lyme Regis all with 25mins drive.

"a luxury in simplicity"
we stayed for a week in the tiny Swift Shepherds Hut, tucked in the corner of a field with beautiful views of the valley. 2 yurts were at other corners of the field, far enough away not to be disturbe… More
